GAMEDAY - Round 21

Think I'll start watching another sport for a while.

It's fair to say you're not watching sport now.

Following their pathetic effort at the MCG against arguably the worst team in the competition, who lost 3 players to injury through the match....Melbourne decided to rename itself the Melbourne Jokers in honour of all players who played this day.....

Well done all

Feeling physically sick now....

Have to say first time ever today I've been close to saying I'm done. I've lost 1 child to the Pies the youngest boy is swaying and I think seeing the boys live next week against Meth Coast will be the last straw for him.

Oh t-mac that was disgusting.

As the great Jim Morrison said 'this is the end'

Where's the guts? Where's the heart? the determination? the pride?

Please don't mention Picks 2 & 3

I couldn't handle it.

Who wants to predict Roosy's post game response.

Will he roast them?

Will he take the soft spoken fuming rage?

Will he just not turn up?

Someone said first win for GWS at the G but it's also their first win in Victoria.

I guess this is what happens when players feel like they have a target on their back. Careers on the line and they've totally imploded.

I live in Brisbane... my 7yo has just begged me to let him support the lions... Then follows it up with "at least they try to win" I'm gutted.

I feel shattered. No other way to describe the feeling.

If i was Roos, i wouldn't bother fronting the media, what good will it do? Just shut the gate, bunker down, cut free the dead wood at seasons end and try and turn the ship around

There is no more appropriate time in the course of Demon events than today for our football team to take a stand for truth, justice and the Australian way.

Over the past eight years we've been ravaged, beaten and humiliated by the least worthy of participants in the AFL competition. Twelve months ago, we had our faces rubbed into it by this noxious vermin at some god foresaken wilderness to our north. We went back there again earlier this year and they flogged us within an inch of our lives.

Enough with the humiliation!

Now that the game's back on the MCG let's teach these suckers the meaning of humility. It's time to draw a line in the sand and not be satisfied to win by 7 goals to 5 which is where we were heading a fortnight ago content to drift home against Brisbane before our wheels fell off.

No. In the words of Winston Churchill, today we're going to fight:-

48years following this club only one word INSIPID

Where's the guts? Where's the heart? the determination? the pride?

They don't have any

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
