Sure. But why would Beamer bring up the notion of 'karma' if not for the belief that Neeld was guilty of some moral wrongdoing? Brent clearly felt that he or others were mistreated.

If you listen to the podcast, he is rather magnanimous toward Neeld but it's easy to infer his primary gripe relates to Neeld's lack of people-management skills - in contrast to Beamer's obvious passion for and efforts to foster a nurturing environment at the club.

You keep saying Neeld took over a dying club, but I think you're conflating club and team.

I understand what you are saying, But Maloney had already had his chance to set up a nurturing environment. It failed, sadly. 186 was the Death Rattle.

Neeld also failed, but Beamer in my opinion certainly made the situation worse by rebelling and then leaving. The message to his team mates was "fug it, he is all yours"

the morale with in the club must have been Subterrain

he should have put his head down and Bum up and worked for his mates, he may have had a year under Roos.

But he walked from a sick sinking ship and threw insults, which as a financial member i found offensive

I'm staggered that anyone can stick up for Neeld and put down Beamer in the same breath AND with the benefit of hindsight.

When did Beamer rebel? My recollection is that he just stopped getting picked and then was shown the door?!

Heard him being interviewed on SEN this evening and completely changed my opinion of him.

He spoke glowingly of his time at the club , even lovingly.

He bore no malice towards anyone, even Neeld, and was extremely gracious and modest about his achievements in the AFL .

He went out with class, in my opinion

Its the only way to go. I just want to remember the times he streamed down the groundwing and kicked a sausage form 50. Thanks for the fun times. Best of luck.

And why did he stop getting picked?

because he said "Fug You..."

i am not defending Neeld at all, But he was bought in to fix a very broken club, part of that break had Beamer involved, because he got away with far too much. Schwab loved him.

And as soon as things changed, for better or worse, Beamer walked.

He threw his team mates in the fire as far as i am concerned

Neeld took over a dying club, we all knew that. Changes had to happen.

Beamer didn't like it, so rather than change himself, hecwalked

If Neeld took over a dying club, then miraculously Paul Roos resurrected the corpse 3 days after Neeld led it to the abyss which could have spelt the END of MFC!

You have started to rewrite the CS chronicles I see.

The real reason Beamer went North was because he spilled  his  VB tinny on  Schwabs desk during selection and Bails then dropped his bong all over the transfer papers for Scully, who was back on the scag.

Next day Jurrah swapped all Jimmys Endone  fora sawn off and went North too,to visit family.

Next day,the sawn off got swapped got swapped for a machete and some booze.

From there things got progressively worse. As they do in such times.

Meanwhile,Cuddles and CS were writing and re-writng the red and blue print (tanking) whilst the apparent secrecy of such  a dazzlingly brilliant strategy was cast aside for the PR benefits of Whiteboard Wednesday.

It all fell apart ,as everything does,In Geelong--Where being mentally challenged is in the genes.

Agreed. Neeld was useless, But Maloney only helped make it worse by shooting through...

Neeld was as inspirational as a bitter,cross-eyed,redheaded,Geelongian could ever be.

So much so that Beamer, as part of the leadership group, went to Don to have CS fired prior to 186? If he loved him so much, Beamer didn't return the love.

I think Beamer has grown up a lot since 2012. That being said, he didn't bathe himself in glory in 2011. I always used Riv as a positive benchmark when looking back to that year. Riv was clearly unhappy with the team's direction but he sucked it up, did what was asked and did his best. When free agency rolled along, no one got the slightest bit angry at him.

As Beamer said during the interview, it happened  and there's not much anyone can do about it now.

Earlier Youtube Videos when Beamer had a weekly spot, Schwab always used Beamer as his Poster Boy. Then it did go sour.

The rest of what you say i totally agree with.

What actually occured in 2011 we are yet to know fully, but it was obviously bad.

The Moment that Schwab stopped (or was stopped) from doing "Whiteboards" the club went to war internally

i hope Beamer does regret what he did, because above all else, he burnt team mates for 2 years.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
