Well i play with 4 teats,so that would show my dedication.

Unlike you im under 95 years of age.so that would be seen as a plus.

I also am in it for the long run, another tick.

Jokes aside,she is very pretty and also well spoken{hard to imagine these days}

Wish all our athletes actually spoke properly when interviewed

your Knot Cliffy's son, are you Jazza?

he could do a run, & dance the shuffle as well... not sure what he was like with the teats butt.

They were spud pickers.

Cliffy was seen shuffling around the district for many years before he was famous.

The Young homestead had a vine grow through an open window and continue to grow for many years until old Mrs Young closed the door to the room and left it to the vine for living in.{true story}.

They were nice people, but vague as a yabbie in a bucket of chit.

My mate now lives in the original house, its owned by the SA Koori trust.

BUT the Ultimate in any sport is to finish first! FIRST

Who really remembers third?

Very Good Achievement no doubt BUT it isn't first!

FIRST is everything! In any standard in any sport!

Got It?

Ohh I ran my first 10km run in the Run Melbourne on Sunday and came in 5564 ( I think out of about 7000) and I demand that you remember me !

Third, in a commonwealth games event?? Unmmmm.

Exactly my point! This is not a "World stage" This a poor man's "World Stage"

If it was where are the Americans, Russians, Germans et al??

I won my awards in the equivalent then of a "Cesspool" Standard stage.

Lets be quite clear on this, Its ok to finish Second, Third, Whatever!

I have expressed my opinion and provided rationale! As I have said so many times , This is an open forum opinion where one can make a comment! Don't agree ?Fine

I don't give a stuff!

Pft First is all that really matters in anything!

Don't agree I don't care!

Ah no I did not if you go back to my first comment I really didn't say anything! That inference was then left up to posters who found it easy to draw conclusions.

Check initial post! Happy to take an apology my good man!

There ya go picket, 5 examples of you hijacking the thread with your dribble.

Congrats Jess, great effort.

To the moderators: I think picket fence has earned some time off for his posts in this thread.

Dear Jess,

Congratulations on winning a bronze medal and running a PB in the Comm Games marathon against world class opponents.

We're sorry we got sidetracked by a local sideshow but we're back on topic now. We would like to repeat that we are proud of you and your great achievement. We look forward to watching your running career develop as you go from strength to strength.

Signed:

??? Smelly, awkward, inappropriate, yes, but what is vague about that? Waste of a good yabbie ... Great yarn about the Youngs, though. Sounds like you fit right in!

Well done to Jess for taking out the Melbourne Marathon (women's) yesterday, knocking off nearly 2.5mins from her pb and qualifying for Rio in the process.

Her time of 2hrs 27mins 45secs makes her the sixth fastest woman in Australian history over that distance!

Sensational effort ???

Jess Trengove, what a legend.

She can run a marathon in less time than Picket Fence can sustain a self-imposed ban!

Currently at about top 1 in 40 million for fitness in the human species.

I am really happy for Jess. She has worked so hard for her achievements and despite her success she is humble and one of the nicest persons I have met.

For about 8 years I have trained at the same running track as Jess. Jess knows that my kids and I are Melbourne fans and when we meet at the track she always takes the time to say hello and often gives me an update on Jack (in recent times the updates are all about Jack's foot). Even at the local supermarket or at MFC functions in Adelaide Jess always stops to chat and engage with my kids.

When I get home from training my kids often ask me if I "saw Jack Trengove's sister at training tonight".

In light of Jess' success and impending Olympic qualification, it may be appropriate that the kids refer to Jack as Jess Trengove's brother.

Whatever the case, terrific athletes and terrific people!
