After watching the loss against the Cats I was surprised how slow some of our players were, Roos has said that the last 7 matches were a prelude the the preseason and draft and it will be a hard preseason so I wonder if they have started to push the training to a higher and harder level to see who can be mentaly strong and who are not, those who watch training will have a better clue.

Another form of tanking? Anyway I can't get to training to check I am enjoying the sun in 1770 at the moment.

Certainly a believable theory. The supporter base was told that Misson would require three pre seasons with our list to get players up to scratch. This coming pre-season will be his third in charge. There will be no excuses if we don't reach elite fitness next year. I expect us to run out games well, unless we do indeed delist a quarter of the list and replace them with kids.

More likely fatigue from a Darwin match the previous week.

Funnily enough, Geelong have acknowledged that they have done exactly this in the last couple of weeks.

So I don't think we can really use it as an excuse.

this is very possible.

I've been wondering the same thing about Port Power & the Cats as well, Freo also went thru a period of losses mid season, & now the Pies... were/are they in hard work prior to tapering before the finals. mini preseason, to sharpen up for September???

I guess you mean the place. But it would make Demonland much more exciting if you could confirm that you've invented a time machine and you've travelled back in time around 244 years.

If you stand and ball watch and let your opponent get 5 metres away from you, you will then look slow trying to catch him, we weren't slow, we stopped running...

Quick of mind, quick ball movement, quick efficient decision making and as you point leading to the ball instead of your opponents leading you makes a side look quick.

I would suggest that the only side which is really quick is Port Adelaide. The likes of Geelong, Hawthorn, Freo etc when on song, have some quick players but it is more about them moving the ball quickly.

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
