I've had my doubts all along about Beyond Blue, I think they take a pretty shallow approach to mental health issues and the hypocrisy of having, as their patron and spokesperson, Australia's leading cutter of health care (incl mental health) and highest promoter of poker machines and casions, Jeff Bloody Kennett.

But this... this seals the deal. Trivialising depression, mocking supporters of a club, and most importantly completely missing the point of what depression actually is.

Depression, definitionally, has nothing to do with how life is. It would actually be more appropriate to be showing people holding up a premiership cup and then getting home and feeling like cr4p.

It's not like they can't find that story in real life, who was the North player in the 90s, spent a decade keeping his depression to himself? Had a mental map of places he could get to around the club where he could be sure nobody would find him if he needed to cry uncontrollably for a while. Wayne Schwass, that's the one. Absolute champion.

I'm irritated by their derogatory use of the Demon's symbols. But really shocked at their totally counter-productive 'depression' message.
