They have got some seriously scary talent in that club.

Unbelievably scary, and to the point now where they don't really need to poach other players anymore. They are well stocked in all areas of the ground, it's just a matter of time before they really click.

Serious question - do you think that coaches ( Roos ?) would manipulate a perspective FA like Frawley purely to get a better draft pick ?

No, not purely.

I think the move was borne of necessity, but suited the club's motives.

There have been times when Frawley could have gone back but he hasn't.

I don't think it's the only consideration when making positioning decisions, but I think it plays a significant part.

Similarly the need for succession planning in the case of Frawley's departure.

His absence has created a situation where we no longer mentally rely on him to take big KPFs, and without him feel undermanned.

We've proven to ourselves our ability to cope without him.

Can't think of anything else they really need though.

They're even stocked in the ruck department.

Without knowing I just would think that Geelong and Hawthorn ( with Buddy money freed up) have more money to splash than Freo

And if Brian Lake quits at the end of the season, the Hawks have even more money sloshing around, and needing a defender....

i don't think he cost a lot - but they will definitely have a need.

Crumbing forward is probably it, although Aaron Hall could still be handy in that department.

Another KPD would be handy but can they afford it? I'm sure they could get another half decent backman for a fraction of what they would need to pay Chip in the current market.

He can go, but that doesn't mean it will make us a better team.

We will be worse if he does leave and if we can finagle a trade that gets us a great young mid we may be better off pretty much immediately but that is a big 'if'...

I think you talking him down so much does your argument a disservice - we will not be better for his departure.

That draft pick will not fill the void left in 2015.

There are no definites in this game.

Frawley is a good player and 2015 will most likely be tougher for his absence.

Steve's just trying to feebly protect his own fragile heart.

It's this kind lack of foresight and understanding that the club will only improve when we rid it of underperforming senior players who have been and still are at our club.

Garland and Howe are the next and if you guys cannot see that tough decisions like these need to continue to be made after performances like today, last week's second half and several other games this year, you are genuinely deluded.

I'm sure neither of you think we're missing Frawley this year.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
