Pretty sure PJ's taken our offer off the table, just in case. Hell, he'd take 4 zeros off the contract if it meant securing pick 3.

So Waite has come out and said he is going so why hasn't Frawley said the anything yet?

Maybe loves the attention, surely all offers have been received by now. I hope that the story of our offer is off the table is true.

Chip hasnt gone yet , Waiting to see who we land in trade period- Harry o and Dangerfield . Clarke and Chip stay .

lol

They are gone. To Roos and Mahoney they are purely investments for players that we actually want.

So Waite has come out and said he is going so why hasn't Frawley said the anything yet?

I think because it's just a given he's gone.

I would suggest that Waite had one suitor and the deal with the Roos has been finalised.

I would further suggest that once the ink is on the paper with either Freo/Hawks/Cats he will announce too.

Greg Swann currently on trade radio having a sook we might be getting pick 3 for Chip

His team Brisbane would move from pick 4 to 5

What a sook, shut the [censored] up Swann you clown

Greg Swan is on Trade Radio has brought up the issue of "Melbourne has done a really good job selling the idea of getting pick 3 for James Frawley, we dont!" Basically said that it effects the Lions as they are straight after them in picks and that pick 3 is too high for a player like James Frawley. Said an end of first round would make more sense.

Everyone is banging on how pick 3 is to high and how the hawks only got pick 19 for buddy. But if the hawks finished where we have they would of got pick 3 aswell I wish we finished 1st and we were only getting pick 19 for him

I sure the Clark fiasco and the other stuff that has happened to us will get factored in to getting pick 3. PJ will be right into the AFLs ear and it will be part of the deal that meant we so readily accepted not getting a PP.

Let the others bleat as much as they like.

People do not look at it that way, its take take take...

God I hate everyone who is saying this. The whole point of the compo weighting is to make sure lower clubs get well compensated. I'm sure Brisbane would want to be well compensated if one of their top players left through FA. I'll be so [censored] off if all the clubs start arking up and we don't get pick 3.

wow Damian Barrett sticking up for u saying we should get pick 3

Mindblown

I have no problem with the Lions getting pick 3. What are you going to cough up for it?????????

Dead set [censored]. Bet if the shoe was on the other foot and Brisbane were losing an AA key defender entering their prime, he'd be stomping his feet having a whinge about Brisbane needing a first round pick.

I do think we'll get pick 3 and I'm confident the AFL have promised it to us behind closed doors, but I also get the distinct feeling there will be faux outrage from other clubs once it happens, and the AFL will end up canceling compo picks as a result.

I can already hear the chorus of whine from other clubs.

Im pretty confident pick 3 has been telegraphed to the club.

We wouldnt be shopping it if we didn't have it.

Swan's a [censored] and he has plenty of mates around the comp who are as equality hypocritical.

In reality 4....5....what difference. ..they wont have it !!

you just watch - we're going to end up getting end of first round pick for him.

this is stuffed!

Its not an option its a formula. The formula says pick 3.

Yeah but the vibe and Marbo are starting to gain some momentum so who knows?...

We have been stuffed by adherence to league rules and now people are suggesting we get further stuffed by ignoring them. What's next?

No we won't. My sense is that Roos has been given the inside word from AFL House that it will be Pick 3.

i thought i read somewhere that the AFL had raised the compensation issue with some of the other clubs and that they were comfortable with melbourne getting pick 3 for frawley.

Greg Swann is just a crybaby

If they had the pick before us we wouldn't hear a peep out of him

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
