Tyson will create his own name, he's looking like one of those player that just rises to the top.

21 games and 6-8 years off his prime, he is a scary prospect

Tonnes of man love for him. Great pick up, will be our best player before too long. Done more in his first 8 games with us, than his #12 predecessor ever did (and it pains me to say that, as i was a huge Sylvia fan).

186 cm, 81kgs. So will get physically bigger/stronger.

Just wait until he tips the scales at 86kgs.

I am too young to have seen Robbie Flower play, which is why I confidently state that Dom Tyson will soon become the best demon midfielder I've seen play. The kid is everything you would want in an inside midfielder, and his vision and awareness makes him a freak. It's an early call, but he will be the champ that Johnstone should have been...

Jones, Yze and a couple of Vineys will probably round out my top 5 by the way!

good job GWS for offloading the best kid you had

morons LOL

Well done MFC Tyson is amazing.

What is the logic behind your 6-8 year estimate?

Looks to me like he could certainly hit his prime as early as next year.

The more a see him the more I think he's the image of Terry Wallace in his prime - looks slow but is so smart, finds space and is deceptively strong - even his left foot kicking action is the same as Wallace.

He doesn't look particularly strong but his strength through the core is amazing. Looks almost impossible to tackle, stands up in the tackles and around the stoppages and even when tackled is always able to get a handball off. Love this kid more and more every week.

And i'm on the bandwagon!
He stood up when we needed him most. He Just finds space in the traffic when it just shouldn't exist - ignores the tackle, puts the arms-up and runs through everyone.

Also love the fact he has started to hit the scoreboard, was the only real query I had about him but looks like he's got that covered.

That goal was kicked from inside the centre square!

What a gem, superb game tonight.

Dom has a great left foot but it let's him down a bit when he has to kick under 30mtrs; when he has a ping at goal from outside 50 you can almost back it in.

better than our last number 12

Has Tyson already achieved more in his handful of games he has played for the MFC than Sylvia did in his entire career playing for us?

That's a pretty good call.

I here that he's a bit of a perfectionist and hates missing targets. He will get much better as time moves on, his improvement in all aspects of his game so far this year has been good and he will only get better.

He needs to find a right foot tho, always turns onto his left and soon they will figure it out.

There's a premiership team called Hawthorn who have a lot of players who always turn on their left. If you've ever watched Josh Gibson try and kick on his right it is one of the funniest things in football.

Most players only go one way and their coaches encourage it. Tyson does have a get out on his right and has used it but will naturally go to his strong foot as all AFL players except Sam Mitchell do and as Sam Blease thinks he can.

I find Tyson knows how to get on his left and doesn't get hampered by it much.

Viney, on the other hand, needs to get some confidence in his right foot, he's much worse than Tyson at using it or getting on to his left.

Tyson's right-footed inside 50 in the last quarter was a real momentum killer. Was being chased down but should have produced a better kick

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
