Jack Watts, 4 tackles, 1 Disposal. I would guess he's been given a bit of a cook during the week and told to get stuck in or else.

Jamar 10 hitouts and 4 disposals so far. Decent work from him.

Well, we kept them goalless for that quarter. That's something. Sub Watts off for Salem at halftime and we might see a quick skillful player running on to the loose ball and pinpointing some passes.

Best quarter from Jamar for a LONG time. Watts tackling & going in but one badly missed mark.

But, his tackles are so ineffectual. He has no physical presence on the ground, he doesn't tackle, he cuddles.

Pedo has been good so far.

We've got to hit targets and keep our feet. Too often we've got the pill and a loopy handball puts a team mate under pressure or drop to the ground while our opposition stays on their feet.

We need to control the ball better and rebound a bit faster. Sydney look to be putting on a lot of pressure. On Watts he needs to stop skirting around the pack. While Cross and Viney are chasing everyone around laying a tackle and then attempting to follow up Watts does a bit of a sidestep around the pack. Either Tackle or put Salem on.

They might as well not have umpires at all if they're just going to cherry pick whichever frees they feel like, usually to the winning team's advantage.

Jack Watts was miles away from his man in the zone. Why? Why can't he use his elite speed to close down his opponent and force a pressured kick?

Yep, I dip my lid to Pedo. I thought he was a list clogger but he is having a dead set crack all over the ground.

great work by pedo to run forward into the centre square then and lovely mark from dawes.

boy we needed him to kick the goal. gotta finish as a forward.

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

    Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years.
