If Roos and Jackson leave before the job is done (and the job is getting us to the level of a competent AFL club able to compete with other clubs) then we will be worse of than we were before they signed on and the club might as well fold (there may not be a choice).

We had 9,000ish at a Port Adelaide game at the 'G a few years ago, but I agree.

7000 for the match today is pathetic. The AFL are so, so misguided if they think they stand a chance in the Western Sydney market.

I agree to a point but I think the saviour belief, if it still exists in the playing group, will be well and truly gone by the end of the year.

Them both committing to 3 years shows they aren't just going to cut and run before the job is done and tells the playing group there will be stability for the next three years. That one year will make a big difference.

I hope it means that the MFC won't tolerate sub-par performances for the next 3 years, guaranteed. PJ and PR should apply the blowtorch to the whole playing group and see who makes it out the other end.

If he doesn't then he will be negligent in his duty. Three years will be an absolute minimum with the way things are going.

His duty is to serve his contract, which is two years. He has no duty beyond that whatsoever.

The immediate problem is the players mentally committing to not being utter crap. I don't thinks its all doom and gloom but the first step for us is the playing group being able to dig deep and do so consistently.

you're kidding? we have 3-4 players that i'd lose sleep over losing, Viney, Hogan, Tyson, and Jones, some good young players in Salem, Toumpas, Kennedy-harris

this list needs to be delisted and totally start again keeping those 7 players imo

No, that's good. I wasn't clear on what you were getting at earlier.

I'm not blaming these 2 at all for their timelines but I do think it would help the club if we had a longer term commitment. I must admit to being surprised at the depth of the problem and thought the list could at least be competitive under Roos. I was wrong.

For the club to survive, and I do believe now we are in serious danger then I think PJ and Roos need to make a commitment to getting the club on track. A time commitment of at least until the end of 2016 would help stabilise things and give a little breathing space.

But what's the next step if Roos decides not to extend his contract beyond two years and we are left with an unsatisfactory arrangement with the successor coach?

Roos was regarded as the best option by many on here so once the best option has been exhausted, what happens? What will the AFL think if Roos fulfills his 2 years and we're still a steaming pile of fecal matter?

I think about 26 players on our list are salvageable, that would include upgrading Harmes to the main list. There will probably be a few retirements at the end of the year and about 8-10 players culled. This all means that Roos will earn his money during the free trade and draft period. Mitch Clark is probably gone! Byrnes will retire. Players like Bail, Terlich, Tapscott etc. will be traded, delisted or sent tithe reserves if they are still contracted.Frawley will gito the Hawks. There may be a couple who request a trade back to heir home states.

Tanking for skinny kids has left us where we are.

At this years draft we need to bring in almost all senior players.

The club cannot afford anymore waiting even if we should.

Supporters even on here are dropping off.

Winning is now so foriegn to us.

We just have to be winning some games to keep interest and hope.
