Intraclub Practice Match - Thursday 20th February, 2014

Featured Replies

Well polish off another with No 2 wife and then polish off No 2 wife. I'll try and catch up if I get there - will you be using a walking frame OD?

Yes right side is red, left is blue and has a white top!

Okay, here's one from left field.

I went to attend the Port Melbourne v Casey practice match last year with dog in tow and was denied entry to the ground by some officious security person.

Does anyone know if you can take dogs to the practice match on Thursday?

*slinks off waiting for a barrage of jokes.....*

BB dogs are definitely verboten at Casey Fields footy ground.

Given the practice match is at Goschs Paddock our canine supporters should be ok as it is part of open parkland.

I have seen people walking dogs there on past visits to training.

Sorry OD probably didn't explain clearly, no dog policy at Casey is only when someone is on the gate, even though signage is up 24/7.

Gosch's paddock is never a problem.

… 2. It's not pizzing down rain - it knocks my make up around

Waterproof Mascara.

(also a great song by Sheryl Crow if you're into curntry)

Thanks for all the advice everyone and particularly T-34 (unless of course you're pulling my leg!). K9 and I will most likely attend.

Particular thanks to Redleg for showing I'm only the 2nd worse comedian on DL.

Shute, didn't realize it was at Goschs! Thanks T-34.

Besides which, your dog's called Jack and is therefore welcome at any venue where the MFC plays.

Nine players set for intra-club returnKey forwards Chris Dawes, Jesse Hogan and Jack Fitzpatrick; ruckmen Mark Jamar and Max Gawn; versatile tall Jack Watts and smalls Jack Viney and Dean Kent, Shannon Byrnes are on track to play.

That's from the club website, Watts "is on track" to play apparently.

One think I like about this article is that it correctly states that Mitch Clark's injury is a hamstring and not the original foot injury. Once we understand that then we can appreciate that the sky is definitely not falling.

Unless it is a Cyril Rioli type hamstring

Apparently there are twelve Casey Players making up the team numbers today. I wonder how much Sportsbet money is on troy Davis as BOG?

Do you feel honoured WJ?

Very much so BB. Jack is currently the flavour of the month at the MFC and I'm proud to lead the Melbourne Jack Pack which goes all the way back to the late great Jack Mueller to the many Jacks we have at the club and even to Jack the K9. And our bite is worse than our bark.

I don't have a job and I still can't get there.

I am going tomorrow all things being equal.

Last chance for me to see something approaching a game before 22nd March.

I will probably squeeze in a half.

Anyone else going?

I have been able to reschedule my appointments in retirement

I'll be there. sitting in my little folding chair.

I'll be there, frozen

I'll be there, frozen

Roos leaves nothing to chance. He knows its a winter game and has organised a cold, wet day to ensure we can practice in all conditions.

Following players are not playing in the first half and doing drills on the other oval:

Toumpas, Jordie, Cross, Frawley, Howe, Jones Dunn, Pederson, Gillies, Grimes

Gillies????

That gives me shivers

I would hope so!!

Is Gillies still with Casey?

Watts playing?

Yes, looking good too

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
