Just out of curiosity and directed at all who have been attending training sessions this pre season... what's the general consensus regarding Miller's coaching ability? Does he appear to be having a positive affect?

Brad's a development coach, during training all the coaches are out on the field, doing their bit, ie most of the time Roos calling the shots and the rest observing with bits of encouragement, help with drills etc, would assume a lot of his 'work' is done at closed sessions and at meetings etc.......would think Roos is developing him as a coach as well

How much work in rehab did Clark get through? After some heavier weeks he really hasn't done much the last week or so. Lots of reports of him walking. Did he get through some sprints?

What about Watts? He obviously left early but I hope he did enough to show he's healthy and can be on track for Friday.

Someone reported a couple of weeks back that he may have nicked the hammy a little (following previous problem). Maybe this is right as he seems to have backed off since then.

CLARK, DAWES & HOGAN all out of NAB Cup 1.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-02-10/dees-short-on-talls

Fancy that they want to hope Hogan is sound because they paid millions for two of the most injury riddled forwards the competitions ever seen, makes you wonder if they even did medical checks on them before they waved the brown paper bags in front of them, we know how quick the Clark trade occurred so theres no doubt that a medical check there wasn't done, the affects of Cameron Schwab will take this club years to repair.

I popped in for about 15mins and Watts was right in the midst of that work. Running strongly, full drill work. I was interested that he was sharing drink bottles with the boys.

As for Clark, no his running was about half to three-quarter paced. Nothing too onerous.

If Watts is well enough to train, he'd be well beyond the incubation period.

You're right, the club should have predicted that Clark & Dawes would suffer collision injuries...

Deadset, you have absolutely NFI.

I'm surprised you even know the players' names and what club you "support."

He will probably use pederson , Howe and fitzy in key forward posts, but include guys like toumpas , blease and jkh trialling other entries forward.

Gee I bet all the clubs knew that he would land awkwardly and stuff his foot then had problems with it afterwards...........some people have no idea!!

So it's the 2013 forward line all over again.

this is a great way to protect our senior Talls to be ready for the start of the season, whilst putting the acid test on our midfield runners to see who's serious, & who's hearts aren't in it.

2 way running to help-out both ends.

it allows us to see our depth players at either end. push them hard prior to our best are ready for the real stuff,; when the weather cools off a tad. we don't want hot weather fatigue to cause our best big forwards to re-injure in a nothing game.

..... 2 weeks out should do for getting some touch.

meanwhile our youth who are ready for the next step can step forward.

Why am I not surprised. Yes I know it's the NAB challenge but we never get the chance to start with some excitement. This year of all years it is needed.

I recall posting a few times that we must be the unluckiest side in the comp for injuries and at the start of every season we seem to have more players out than any other side.

Yes I feel the same pain Redleg and as you say it is hardly surprising.

Not helped by the fact that two of the three are perennial crocks.

So very true though sue, Debt Demolition was the worst thing to ever happen to this club, it sucked people in to believing the club was headed in the right direction when all it did was give certain people a bit longer to sit in a position that they wernt worthy of, people like yourself thinking the Debts paid Cameron and he's puppets are doing a great job, I'm starting to think it was the worst thing to ever happen to this club because in anything in life you need a plan b , not a red and blue print that was as real as our next major Chinese sponsor , people like you are concerned about chips contract when guys like Clark earning double the amount think about it , CS decisions have very very long ramifications . Just to be fair to Clark, before he did his injury he was flying. We looked like we hit gold. The injury is no one's fault and no one was complaining about his contract when he was booting goals from everywhere. Hopefully he returns better than ever. Maybe if he does, his next contract with us will give something back, considering our return on his first.

Chip if he leaves will not do it for money, as we will match it or go close. If he leaves it will be for the hope of a flag, sooner rather than later.

Weak but typical.

Fitzy becomes important to give us some structure but I can't see him playing if Dawes and Hogan don't as he's been in rehab as well.

thats why im so interested in how jamar is coming along.

fitz and max are expected to play big parts if the other 2 are injured.

jamar is definately needed if this is the case.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
