Im excited to see what Dom barry and JKH can bring to the table.

Both quick n clean with a bit of x factor.

From what i saw of Barry, a nice left foot if i recall correctly, and very nice delivery inside the 50.

Very keen to see the midfielders. vince, cross, jones and tyson isn't a bad core.

not to mention the potential of the younger mids now that there is the support of cross, vince etc

FB: Dunn Frawley Strauss

HB: Grimes McDonald Terlich

C: Vince Jones Watts

HF: Toumpas Pedersen Trengove

FF: Blease Howe JKH

Foll: Spencer Cross Tyson

Int: King, Michie, Georgiou, M. Jones, Clisby, McKenzie

Subs/Emer: Nicholson, Byrnes, Barry, Evans, Bail

Backline (Garland), Midfield (Viney) and small forwards (maybe Kent and Salem pushing for a spot) aren't far off full strength so I'd like to see some competitive signs there. Pressure for a round one spot should pretty much be on from now.

Tall forwards and rucks will have to do the best they can so good luck to them.

And a converted defender in Pedersen and an 18 year old rookie from NSW in King. So yes not a lot to scare the opposition there but help is on it's way by next week.

Ignore the scoreboard this week (unless we're winning of course). It's the clearance's, time in possession and inside 50 count (and differential) that will be the indicators worth watching.

I can't wait.

This is what the NAB Challenge is all about, Pedersen will relish the chance to nail a spot, he kicked 20 goals in 16 games for North Melbourne so he can kick goals and he has had a full pre season, looking forward to seeing what he can do, not what he did in the past, same for a rejuvenated Trengove.......

the new midfield.......and King if he gets a run will love it....he is good mark and has reasonable speed, sure he has been told not to body up but use that instead

Love Jake's work. I can recall a post game interview a couple of years ago where N Jones mentioned something along the lines of Jake's competitive attitude providing a bost to teammates. He strikes me as the sort of bloke you would want next to you in the trenches.

If we're talking about MFC in the trenches I'm pretty sure we're France..

What I would like more than a win, would be to see the Richmond supporters going into meltdown having been beaten by a second string MFC team.

... mainly because if they go into meltdown when they lose a practice match, what will they be like when we thump them in a real game?

With the naming of Georgiou in the squad I wonder if there will be any temptation to move Dunn down forward in this game to cover for our dearth of talls in the forward half?

Cross and Michie as interchange, Matt Jones and Evans as subs, simply because the way i'd use it is to make first sub at half time and second at 3/4 time if there are no injuries, Matt Jones could play a half and evans a burst for a quarter.

You are putting the team behind the 8 ball straight away, there are six on the bench and 2 subs, 26 players in the team, 3 emergencies = 29 named

Oops i didn't realise that, oh well the four on my bench wouldn't change, just add Strauss and Clisby as subs

Actually it should make interesting viewing the bench, coz you can sub any time, but at half time, you can take a player out of the red vest and put them back on again if you want, (or reset them as the AFL would have it), making it four subs in total

Id say hoping that we dont have injuries I'd have 8 different players in the red vests throughout the game.

Ie. 2 start sub for first game. At 1/4 they come on. Half time pick 2 new subs. 3/4 take off 2 more.

That way 8 players play the majority of 3 quarters.

The other 18 get managed throughout the game.

Potential Richmond team. No Maric or Riewoldt but they have 2 senior rucks to our 1. Plus a midfield experience at playing together. Some questions over there forward line as well

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval.     With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
