Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Nothing to do with the thread nutbean but doing this always amuses me.

Why is it that we all do this?

We know we are going to disrespect the person so we put those three words first and then do exactly that "disrespect" them.

But then we feel ok because we put in the disclaimer.

I guess by now I should not be surprised at the human condition but I am.

I put that in for a good reason - "With all due respect, I don't want to upset you however, Don't take this wrong way but, No offense but" are phrases I seldom use but when I do see post 896

Anyone thinking his mental demons may/ought be fixable short term may be disappointed

You can't assume a time frame for a problem you're also assuming, and then say it's a certainty.

the certainty I claim is there is no time frame...thats the point...well missed

many seem to think itll all but clear up in a few weeks. Im saying its highly unlikely.

What we are being told is the sanitized for domestic consumption version of everything

That hes had to step aside should surely point to it being more than just having a bad day or two. Hes has some serious issues, the least of which I would think now is his actual physical fitness. That he cant get it right has caused it seems something far more insidious.

His wellness in this instance wont happen overnight....far from it.

He has to first get his head in the right space, he has to then get his body in the right shape , he then has to get it up to speed ( whilst keeping head in right space ) and then if he makes it this far has to get match fit

hes going home....that in itself speaks to how deep it all runs.

I have been accused of sitting on the fence and happily accept that because if I don't know something I won't make a wild pronouncement either way.

What are you doing on this forum with an attitude like that?!

If I recall people hear didn't have the sympathy when Fev broke down maybe someone should reopen that thread?

I think alot of people had sympathy for Fev's overall wellbeing, but not for the fact that he generally behaved like a [censored].

Mitch has been doing all the right things, indicated by him being voted into the LG, but by the sounds of it may have put too much pressure on himself to get right for round 1. Hopefully reducing that pressure and simply focussing on his rehab will help him get right and available to play in the first half of the season.

just for the benefitt of stuie

There is no time frame, DOES NOT mean it will be fixed quickly.. That scenario vanishes the second he has to take a leave of absence or has the gravity of this escaped you ?

No time frame means...it could be a month, could be two could be the season could be .....whatever

but it certainly wont be short term as in days or weeks which is whats really required to get his back playing this season with any effect

How can I determine that...I havent..He has...hes GOING HOME

Incorrect. No time frame means it could be any time. It's a simple concept.

in this context it doesnt

you might struggle with context I grant

Can you honestly suggest he'll be back training in a month ? just asking

No time frame means there's no time frame.

You can't say "there's no time frame, but it will be ages", it's an oxymoronic sentence.

The whole point is NO ONE knows when he'll be back, least of all you.

Just had grimes on sen and he spoke about MC and how hard it is to c a team mate having issues without being able to do much for him.

He said how respectful everyone has been about his situation and also how respectful the media have been to.

Maybe some on here could follow suit.

Look forward to seeing MC back in the red and blue soon.

Do you know Mitch personally? One of his best mates are you? No. You don't. You know NOTHING.

Mitch wouldn't even know how long at this stage, hence having a think about things, so you have no idea, like the rest of us, that's why there's NO TIME FRAME.

well we do know he is on the lti so there's 8 weeks min

here we go.... good point

may I ask learned self how yo might then extrapolate that out as to when you might expect him to be back on the track ( at least ) ? Just asking as I suspect some reasoned answer form your good self

Also 8 weeks goes exactly to my point that its not a short term fix.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
