I'm pretty sure I have the old training jumper like this 2014 version from about say early 90s maybe even late 80s..

I love it...and I love the new one.

ever since we started with white/grey jumpers, we have been a failure.

we are red and blue. anything else represents compromise and failure.

if we have to have an away jumper, can we please use the light blue jumper of the 70's and 80's. At least is contains 'some' elements of heritage and strength.

white jumpers make me think im following a different club. western bulldogs or some other compromised club.

Please. Hawthorn's clash strip is predominantly white with a brown hawk, and their season was, well pretty successful. I don't hear any white in their song. What about Carltons all white with a blue C. There's no white mention in we are the navy blues. Get with the times people, every club is doing it and will have to continue doing it.

I don't like Etihad, or consecutive 6 day breaks or the fact there is 18 teams in the comp not 16.

There's a reason we aren't on the AFL board, primarily because we are unable to separate the big picture from what we'd prefer.

Whether you like the clash guernsey or not, the reason it's implemented is because teams do clash, some alot more than others. They were never going to have a system where only 4-6 teams require the clash strip.

As the years go on and the game is marketed more and more, expect more and more strips. WYL can sit by a fire, shaking with his 70 year old teddy asking it to never change but the realistic scenario is that we can offer the club our ideas on the best strip for us, and sadly, that is all we can do.

FWIW, I have no issue with alternate strips, but I'd far prefer our new training jumper in mostly red, with the blue emblem as our strip.

i would prefer it too, but that's not say a better one still couldn't be found

i also believe there are teams we don't need to wear a clash strip against

i'm also open to having more than one clash strip depending on who we play

i hate a predominately white clash strip especially coupled with white shorts

i notice watching on tv that both the nrl and a-league, that the predominately white clash strips can be worn with coloured shorts and this seems to diminish greatly the overall white ghostly look that you see with afl clash strips and white shorts

if the current mfc clash strip could be worn with red (or navy) shorts it would be a 100% improvement

In NFL/NCAA matches there is always a light (usually white) and dark (coloured) team: it's a good contrast for TV. The AFL are hardly innovators so that's why they too are on board.

Red is a "dark" colour, therefore WE can't use it in our clash jumper. That's an AFL policy.

White (light) coloured jumpers are popular with kids because it's easier to get autographs on. And as for "no white" for the MFC: this club's first nickname was "The Invincible Whites".

A good differentiated clash jumper is another source of income for clubs. Look at EPL clubs with up 3 kits per season. Actually I think they have to lock them in for 2 seasons so they aren't appearing to gouge the fans too much.

Having said all that; I don't see the huge need for clash jumpers. The fact that the stupid policy is enforced in a haphazard manner: viz - Port v Carlton in R23, us only ever playing away games against Esserden so they never have to wear that grey abomination more than once a year, Collingfilth wearing their stupid black backed jumpers against us when the white is clearer etc...

I just want to see us win games in red and blue.

The problem with this point of view is that if the AFL came out and said "This year MFC you must wear a black and white Clash Strip"....In the name of marketing....supporters and members should accept this??

We the shareholders of the MFC should decide the colours we choose to wear...The use of clash jumpers is haphazard as Dnic says above, and for this reason is used only as a marketing money spinner

The word clash is only used for a convenience...
