That quote is from DA...

Nasher - do you have all the data from the last 6 years? Need to settle who invented this term...

I could swear I did but it is also something DA would think of...

Anyway, it's alive and well but remember - just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you...

'Melbourne - We Are Terrible At Most Things'

I did a search at the time of that thread to see if I had subconsciously plagiarised you RP, but the earliest existing post on the intranets I found was when I first used it on 'ology.

Could've sworn it was born in my brain, but if you did give birth to the term I humbly withdraw my custody papers.

Jeez does it really matter who invented the term?

What happened to staying on topic?

Thanks for the reports guys.

Does anyone have an idea as to how many players we have in rehab at this time of year compared to last?

That would be interesting to know.

We seem to have a few regulars in the rehab group (like tappy) and then some that just come and go.

The interesting thing is we don't really have many injured to the point where they can't train (maybe Kent) Dawes/Riley doing some running.

The rehab group seems to be doing quite a bit so I am not to worried.

Training threads have the life span of a Mayfly.

When they get 'derailed' I don't care - it is two days till the next one. The complaints are more annoying than the derailings.

Read what happens, read too much into it, ask about players, get an answer, and move on.

Like.

It's pretty obvious though.

Never understood those that don't get it.

You wanna keep the thread on track?

Ask a training-relevant question.

If there's nothing more to add, who cares? Wait a day.

If the training threads weren't regularly derailed, perhaps what I said about the rehab group would be remembered.

I asked a few players............the one's that have been consistent in the rehab group Blease (he needs to get fitness up, Roos says so) Dawes and Riley are coming back from knee surgery and broken leg respectively, Kent has a problem with his patella......others have been in and out of it, if they have the slightest niggle they are put into rehabl group, or if they are on a 'light' week they may work with rehab group as well................the plan is to have everybody training with main group in January, asssume this will be everybody except Riley...although he said he was on track and Roos repeated the same in his interview...bit concerned Fitzy has been missing for a couple of sessions and Jamar....Jack Grimes had his nose operated on that is why he was missing.....broken courtesy of Lynden Dunn at training (who else)

This will be the make or break year for Sammy, if he gets through it then we will have a player.

Thanks.

so it seems like Kent is the only one that can't really do much (running wise).

I think Kent is a bit behind Riley, unfortunately.

Luckily for him, he's young and will be given time.

This will be the make or break year for Sammy, if he gets through it then we will have a player.

And if he doesn't, we'll rid ourselves of a list clogger.

Win-win.

Contract years are a beautiful thing for players like Blease. Let's just be careful that if we see some improvement not to over react. On a similar note I expect Dunn to be better in 2014 than 2013 as he seems to always play better in a contract year.

Ditto Flash, Trapper and Woey.

The other major difference is the players are enjoying training.

That was my take from the session I attended last week.

The players were very upbeat and seemed to be going with more intensity at more pace and for longer on each drill.

There was a lot of encouragement of each other.

They seemed to be cleaner with the ball and more developed as a group physically. The photo of Jimmy is a good example of time spent working out and improving your body shape. Most players seemed more ripped.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
