I think over the last 7 years the preseasons have been the most exciting for us dees supporters.

Hopefully that will change and season 2014 will be exciting for a change.

Appreciate the training reports guys and gals.

We can only hope Green comes back to the club.

Couldn't agree more.

The "OLD" club treated our senior players with contempt.

Let's hope Jnr. Greenie and the others that were so harshly treated come back.

Regarding Evans, he looked good but the whole squad was generally sharp. One thing to note is he is an accurate and creative kick on the run. At this stage I have him in my best 25 and am trying to whittle it down from there.

Thanks for the update, I'm like Ron B, I have a very high regard for Evans and am looking forward to seeing him at his best.

Accurate and creative kick?

This is Pickles Evans we are talking about?

I'll believe it when I see it in a match. The old "brilliant at training" has become a Melbourne epidemic in recent years. But nonetheless good to hear he is coming along. I'm not discounting anything under the new coaching regime.

I agree with Ron. Yours is one of the best reports I've seen MB. I see Demonland reporter in your future. The pay isn't great but you'll have all the "likes" a man could want.

That is when likes make their long awaited and triumphant return.

I fully agree with you P-Man about how easy it is to look good during preseason. I have been to a lot of preseason training over the past 5 years and it usually looks clean and sharp, and that is because they are running freely down the oval with no real pressure on. The only different preseason was Neeld's first few sessions where it was fully revealed how AFL-unfit many of our players were. I can still see Blease, Gysberts and Bennell getting yelled at!!

Having said that, I honestly do think Evans is an accurate and creative kick on the run. From his first few games before injury messed him up I have admired his basic game, his running and his ability to kick the ball to a space making the recipient run on to it. This could be invaluable when he looks up and sees Hogan, Clark, Dawes, Fitzy etc... running into space. The more i see Evans training well and injury free, the more I see him on our starting 22. But that is very easy t do in December!

It wasn't just them that earned the wrath of the coaching staff when I saw them. I'm quite certain I saw steam coming out of Craig and Misson's ears about the condition of some of the older, more experienced types.

I think however, this is where preseason training has changed over the years. Back in the day, the more experienced guys used to know exactly what was required of them by the start of a season and they would bludge a bit at this time of the year. It's much more professional today and players have to treat it more seriously.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
