With George Stone officially finished at Sydney, he will join the Demons in coming weeks.

The delay might be the Dew stuff, but a great addition to club for development!

From the Sydney Swans website:

THE Sydney Swans wish to thank departing coaches Leigh Tudor and George Stone.

...................................................................................

Longmire said he wished to once again acknowledge the contribution of Stone, who was honoured as a life member of the Swans at last Friday night’s Club Champion Dinner.

“George has made an enormous contribution to this club over the past 12 years and it is absolutely fitting that he departs as a life member,” Longmire said.

“George has primarily worked in our opposition analysis and development areas and has been a key factor in the successful development of so many Swans players over the journey.

“He has commuted to Sydney on a regular basis over the past few years and we understand that he wishes to remain in Melbourne full-time.

“We thank him for everything he has done for the club and wish him all the best.

Probably end up going to North, Carlton or the Bulldogs and leave most Demonlanders with steam coming out of their ears

What an excellent pick up! I look forward to hearing the officialy release.

The development of the young Sydney lads has had to be one of the best.

I really hope we can acquire Dew - Sydney stoppage coach.

In 2013 Sydney led stoppages with 29.1 a game, and clearances with 39.7 a game.

I can see why Roos wants these two.

The Swans reportedly have given the out-of-contract development coach George Stone their blessing to join Roos at the Demons given that he has been commuting to Sydney.Read more: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/swans-say-no-to-roos-dew-stays-20130924-2uca0.html#ixzz2hMyZF93C

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
