Thanks Craigy for standing up when we were at our lowest. Put your reputation on the line to help this club which you have.

Bye Chris, watch that door on the way out.

I actually put Connolly up, someone has added Craig, so not my spelling mistake.

Thanks for the advice though, but reckon I've got Craig covered.

Just thought you as the thread maker might be able to edit it that's all.

All good.

I watched first hand Schwab and Connelly set back Freo 10 years and couldn't believe we hired these 2 Muppets. They should be remembered for the sacking of a beloved captain a good coach, the debacle at Kardinya Park , the hiring of a dud coach, the worst recruiting record since the Dockers , our worst loss at home in over 100 years and the financial strain upon the club by giving contracts to mates knowing full well that they were more than likely going to be moved on or made redundant.

Don't let the door knock you in the head on the way out !!!!

A strange post that reflects a minority view at Dockerland and is as close to the truth as much of the revisionist history about these guys.

Before Schwab and Connolly arrived at Fremantle the club was broke and had never played in a finals game. The people that matter at that club readily acknowledge the contributions made by both men to getting the Dockers where they are today.

It's regrettable that we have among us no shortage of mean spirited people who have selective memories of the contributions made by past servants to the club, Cuddles was a great player at this club whose career was cut short tragically by a knee injury. Both he and Schwab worked hard and did their best to further the interests of the club. I wish them both well in the future.

Of course Connoly was never going to retire to help ease the clubs financial burden.

Live in Fremantle? play for a Fremantle do you champ? Talked to many ex players, supporters and staff have we? I'm surrounded by them each and every day. They all warned me that they were like a cancer in there club and so it has been proven. Happy to be paying out Connelly's contract are we? How many games did we win under there watch? Have they left us in a better position then when they arrived - not bloody likely.

Connolly was a nice bloke with the right intentions that was just in way over his head. I did some work with the club during the Bailey years and found him to be helpful and accommodating. He's a genuine people person, I expect he'd have been great in a relationship management role, playing guide for sponsors and so on. Those potting him or making snide remarks either never met him or are just being silly keyboard warriors.

Craig was a good resource who clearly knows his stuff and had a good relationship with the players. I think it was pretty clear though that he became redundant when Roos was appointed.

No surprises.

CC is a great Melbourne person and when you see him at the footy I hope you treat him with more respect than shown here. You don't have to buy him a beer but let me know where he is and I will.

Jumped on a grenade partly of his own making (w/ the rest of the MFC and Adrian Anderson) and I thank him for it.

As for Craig - I hope the payout was not substantial. I have no idea why he has gone to Ess. From bad governance to worse - frying pan fire comes to mind.

Oh well...

Spot on. If he had the job that he had at the end of his time from the very start, I don't think Cuddles' reputation would have copped half as much damage to his reputation as he has.

The problem was he could have had the charisma of JFK and have had the conciliatory skills of Nelson Mandela but the plan that he and CS were trying to ram through was always going to damage relationships beyond repair.

What a shock,. We are paying out Cuddles' contract. Lets dip into the cookie jar one more time.

And Craig? Anyone know if we are paying him out as well?

Our salary expenses for people not working for the club in 2014 will outweigh those who are actually there the way we are going.

rpfc My understanding was that if he got another position we did not have to pay the last year of his contract. I won't bet my left leg on it but I am confident.

And any Port in a storm!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
