With four seasons under his belt, Tapscott's career is at the crossroads as he has yet to live up to his promise as a top 20 draft selection.

Look for this man to make serious inroads in 2014. Will be a player.

I have always hoped that but now I just can't see it happening.

What serious inroads will he make? what role will he play?

Hope you are right because we need some toughness in the team.

Actually his best position was when he was playing in the back line. His kicking skills off half back can be a weapon.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with Tappy next year

great test of bad selection vs terrible development.

I think Tappy has the tools to be a decent player, has never had a settled role for long enough to really grow into it and been very poorly coached up until this point, his build and physicality really adds a point of difference to our side that I like.

Hopefully Roos can settle him into a position, imo it's the glenn Archer/ cambell brown style back pocket, let him train there all pre season and see how he goes,

would wanna make serious strides in 2014 or I doubt he will get another contract.

Yep

My problem with him is I have never been able to see what skill set he offers the team.

Beside a big body what does he offer?

IMO the only position he is fit to play at the moment is a BP like a Josh Hunt.

He's too bulky restricting his agility, has no tank, and simply can't find the ball well enough to go in the midfield if he did have the fitness.

On thin ice.

A trade option for mine, but I've said that for years.

Tappy has been a major disappointment for me. Just doesn't get enough of the footy and when he does, his reputed 'booming kick' lets him down far too often, especially in front of goals. Sadly, I'm starting to think that he might have 'caught the eye' as a junior because his size enabled him to 'bully' less physically developed peers, but this won't cut the mustard in big league. Definitely needs more strings to his bow than he has shown to date..

We have all heard this so many times before about so many players, and have been disappointed.

We all I am sure would love you to be right. I don't think we should hold our collective breaths however.

I agree it is also difficult holding your breath for 15 players.

To be quite frank he wouldn't be remaining on the list of better clubs. This is for mine an area we need to emulate. If we can see a player wont amount to what we need we need to be strong enough and have the courage of conviction to delist and move on.

Is it not also fair to those who are going to add to the equation that they be surrounded by and topped up with players that will do likewise ?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
