White is for the umpires - shove them back in it.

A century ago our players wore 95% navy with a red collar & front trim. That & the reverse are perfect non-clash options.

The AFL are keen to get us up & running in 2014.

Allowing us to scrap the white & a yes to the red/navy trim could happen whilst they are nuturing us.

REB & NAVY ONLY!!!!!

TU Clashes often dont really exist. but to think that Messendon remove theres by that ridiculous grey is just as.

My point which , I note you waft over, again, is that the effort s they make are not congruent to those we are made to do.

We are to wear white,...they fudge a grey.. Its a Joke. The rules even more

No, actually I've covered that point.

Grey is considered a light colour by the AFL. They want clubs to have light and dark options. Essendon's home jumper is dark, obviously, so they use a grey alternative as their light.

Melbourne's home jumper is dark, so we need a light jumper. We chose white. We once chose a non-white option, remember the silver abomination from a few years back? No one liked it.

I'm sure we'd all like it if we could wear the home jumper every week. But we can't. Last week's Port-Carlton game involved a clash of jumpers and the outcry was notable. The AFL wants to avoid clashes. By asking each club to have a light and grey jumper, they avoid clashes. Essendon has grey, we have white, but the outcome is the same - both are light jumpers to provide alternatives to the dark home jumpers.

This sums everything up perfectly.

And yesterday, both Carlton and Richmond got away with wearing their dark strips! Carlton had the white shorts, so were presumably the "away" team. Where was their white jumper??

The AFL is a joke...!!

If you truly wants what is best for your wife surely you need to convert her to the Melbourne Football Club.

Also think of your children, half Demon and half Hawk \, this combination could produce little Messendon or Collingwood supporters and nobody would want to see that!

But back to topic, the MFC is now Blue, Red and White? Serious a white jumper IMO is a joke, The MFC should only use its team colours and only when it needs to just change the tone to a lighter colour or switch from mainly red to mainly blue as needed.

It is my understanding the Away Jumpers are really a marketing / sales thing anyway, So maybe we just need a jumper with Roos face on it. I just get the feeling they would sell in large numbers and may help to pay his salary LOL

Hey Big Frog give me a break. How do you think I go trying to convince the family to follow the Dees these days when the Hawks just keep on playing finals? Short answer no frigging hope and unfortunately this is being replicated in many households and will bury the club if we don't turn it around ASAP.

You're looking at it wrong. It's not a blue, red and white jumper; it's blue and red on a white background. White isn't the paint, it's the canvas.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
