The Peter Jackson Appreciation Thread

Featured Replies

I just love listening to him talk. So refreshing to listen too! What a media conference :)

I cant fault his work so far. I hope he sticks around to extend Roos' contract. He has got more done in 4 months than most of the rest had done in 4 yrs.

That is, everything he has touched so far is turning to gold.

Correction DeeVoted!

A decade

Peter Jackson you are the balls of this club!

You are this clubs testosterone!

Even if you leave in the next 1-2 years you will always be a demon messiah.

Thanks PJ!

We should send him a box of Moet Champagne from Demonland.

He should be on the Banner.

It was his hard work.

Is kissing him out of the question?

PJ is still only signed up until the end pf 2014

Needs to extend that ASAP

It's funny that after (I think it was) the 148 point to Essendon, some fans on here and other websites were making "Get Paul Roos at any cost" style cries.

Not in a million years, I thought. The guy is not interested in coaching, period, let alone a basket case like the MFC>

But PJ has done the impossible in a matter of months.

Incredible.

He has made an incredible difference - enter, identify weaknesses, be candid, then go like blazes for what we need to fix these weaknesses.

can we keep him ? lol

Thanks for saving our club and putting us on a new direction

Without him I hate to think what our future would be and we wouldnt have Roos.

Very big thanks from me.

I'm not going to rehash the past forever but I would like to ask one question....

For such a 'passionate, committed Demon', there was not one mention on Cameron Schwab's Twitter feed congratulating us on getting Roosy. It just goes to show that actually helping the club is more than just words. It's actually doing something.

Oh and I'm stoked we got Roosy.

See you in Feb!

The best thing is he doesnt sit there and bang on about our club and how we are the oldest club and been around for over 150 years. He is an outsider who came in and saw a huge mess he had to clean up. Kudos to him

PJ has done more for this club in his short time he has been there than anyone else (except JS) in the last 7 years.

We are indebted to you for ever.

And wasn't it something when he got fired up about the PP.

He isn't going to lose that without a fight.

Another tick.

...and he was right on the money. We will get pick one but it looks like the angle is that we will have to trade it as long as the deal ticks the AFL boxes.

can we keep him ? lol

What about C Schwab he will think you no longer love him!

I have said it before and will say it again I have a Man Crush on PJ

Didn't Roos say he would play him in the back pocket?

Tough and smart.

can you imagine PJ doing something like this

so glad to see the back of this muppet

Haha what an absolute [censored] of a bloke! He would drive me mad on how much he would drible on about the club history at EVERY function! History is alright but talk about the present and the future!

Putrid bloke

Thank god we don't have MFC people in charge any more.

Goes pretty well, this new-fangled competence thing that everybody else seems to have. Would be good to get used to it.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
