I'd prefer Geelong or Sydney successful

I no longer care about the method.

I do not want to be liked

I just want wins and many of them the method I could not care about.

As I have said elsewhere I look forward to be universally hated by all and sundry

For being winners at all costs.

Or to be the hardest team to play against!

Sort of PJ

Those words don't sit well with me.

In principal, the words are okay. We just need some substance before we make predictions like that.

I'm with you OD; I'd be happy to be hated because I'm tired of the total indifference people have to MFC at the moment. People have even stopped laughing at us. The ultimate turn around will be when we can generate the same passions as those shown towards Collingwood, et al.

PJ do you know what Hawks into Freo above 39.5 is paying?

Would just love to see the Cats and Swans both get up but just can't see how they can.

Hawks are $3.70 and Freo are $3.10 for 40+. I don't gamble but those are pretty interesting odds.

Also here are the odds to win the flag:

Hawks $1.95

Freo $3.25

Geelong $5.25

Sydney $9

Me too but with Tippett out Sydney don't really stand a chance. He has let the league for kicks to inside 50 since he got off his suspension this year and combine that with Goodes out + young guns like Mitchell it doesnt look good.

Also Geelong will have Enright out who they have always heavily relied on... he has only missed 7 games since 2007 and played in every win against the Hawks since the Kennet Curse.

From an entertainment perspective - I'd like to see a Freo Hawks final. Shame about Ibbostson being out though

Insipid umpiring (for both teams, mainly against Hawthorn with pathetic holding the ball decisions) and insipid goal kicking.

Are you taking the mickey with the holding the ball comment? Both Geelong and Hawthorn have been rooted by the umpires' inconsistency when it comes to htb decisions. It's probably evened out in the end though, so I guess nobody has been disadvantaged particularly by the poor umpiring.

No, early on they were paying holding the ball for players simply being tackled, irrespective of if there was prior opportunity or the player was attempting to dispose of the ball.

So you agree with me then. Inconsistent.

But who else is loving this Hawthorn failure? I know I am.

Not sure how it will end but Clarkson has made a monumental coaching blunder in taking off Bailey. They had Geelong cold with Hale on Rivers now they've evened the contest and let them off the hook. Vardey is now winning the ruck contest against lesser rucks in Hale and Roughy.

I know this has been a planned move during the season but sometimes you need to watch the flow of the game, definitely back Geelong's way and it's Clarkson's mistake.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
