Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

I doubt it.

Yes so do I Robbie I know the AFL law is different to others where Precedence means something

technically there have been no (AFL) legal precedents because others have not been charged with similar offences to create any legal precedents

what i think you are referring to is previous accepted practices and that is a different thing

but your point is made nevertheless PSD

Any idea how long this "investigation" is going to last?

....until they find at least one scapegoat? ........probably just as the election date is drawing close

Was only half paying attention, but I am pretty sure 'Robbo' on AFL360 last night said something about expecting to hear an announcement around mid-season (he mentioned a round, but as I said, I wasn't paying close attention). I'm also pretty sure he mentioned what he thought might be the penalties they could expect.

There's an investigation going on, why would you expect to hear anything before it has finished?

On Offsiders a few weeks ago, Gerard Whateley made the comment that those who have seen the full initial document say that it is as bad as first reported.

I'll back Gerard.

I have zero trust in politicians and media people

I will believe when I see it.

Not a word will be said until the investigation is over.

This is above the AFL's head.

This is above the AFL's head.

It is not the AFL I am concerned about in this one wyl.

It is the chief managers of spin in Canberra that concern me.

A good source at Ess says there will be nothing for months while the investigation is conducted.

FFS they took 8 months to investigate something that has never happened!!!!

Spot on Jnr.

So I will keep breathing

Let Essendon sweat. There were internal problems whether the board knew it or not.

There will be sacrifices....somebody cheated.

Cronulla look to be in big trouble and guess who their doctor was? Yep mr dank. Up to 14 players could be stood down. Apologies for no link. The wheels are turning.

Yeah, Essendon will be next cab off the ranks one would think.

The danger for Essendon is that, based on a recent AFL precedent, they might just get pinched for once being the employer of Stephen Dank.

ASADA probes Cronulla Sharks over Stephen Dank link.

Dank was at Cronulla in 2011 and a year later was at Essendon.

The Bombers are going to need some help to avoid the spectre of guilt by association.

Hopefully no one at Essendon ever looked 'ashed faced' cause thats apparently a sign of great misconduct!

Apparently, when the needles went into the players' stomachs a few of them were grim faced.

Missed it by 8 hours should have kept my mouth shut for another day.

Still no charges yet

Yes I know I am clinging to the life raft.

May have to revise thinking as Ted Baillieu "emerged' "ashen faced" "on Wednesday night" from"yet another special liberal party room meeting"

Luckily not in the Vault and to date no claims from other teams players that Victoria was tanking.

Caroline Wilson unlikely to be involved as matter requires some knowledge of reporting practices.

Just saw add on SBS TV - 'drugs in sport' topic on Insight next Tuesday. Clint Bartram is on the panel.

Cronulla stood down coach , sacked footy manager, dr, physio, conditioner,. Danks was there only a short time .

Will Bomber be the sacrifical lamb for Hird. Dr reid may go and others.

They stood down the coach while the investigation is going on citing management issues, he didn't know what was going on. Sound familiar?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
