I'm glad we can all talk about this here in a civil manner.

I'm not here looking for sympathy.

Hird has to go.

Dank should be locked up.

and yet he remains ( JAH )

and seems more slippery than an eel does Dank.

You'll know this only too well Ash , your club's buggered until at least the former occurs.

Still having hung around us for so long you'll be used to the notion of pain !!

I have a lot of sympathy for the supporters, a little sympathy for the players, particularly the young, naive ones. I have none whatsoever for Dank, Hird, Dr Reid and any board members who knew what was going on, who I believe deserve life bans.

I'd like to see the players receive 11 match(not weeks)bans- break the banned players into two groups- group one serves their suspension in the first half of the season and group two in the second half.

As for the club, I don't think they should or will toss them out of the league, but I do think a just penalty would be:

$10 million fine

Play the 2015 season for no points.

Be excluded from the first and second round of the draft for two seasons.

Can't be bothered reading back to see if this has been mentioned, or if it's been mentioned in the general media...

I heard it be said that Bomber Thompson resigned from the coaches association about 2 weeks ago and has no intention of rejoining, costs about $5,000p/a. So he may not coach again, as all coaches are apparently required to be members of the CA. From what I understand, this also distances him from the AFL and the requirement to pay the fine imposed upon him by the AFL. They can't force him to pay. Bomber has significant business interests outside football and has no need to coach for a living. He is pizzed off by the AFL fine and does not want to pay it on principle. He is also pizzed that Hird hasn't been removed and is washing his hands of it all. This makes it hard for the AFL force him to pay, as their 'rules' regularly do not stand up in court. Obviously ASADA rulings are a different matter, but the fine comes from the AFL.

It appears I have woke to the smell of NEGLIGENCE claims in the air.

Oh this brings back memories of my university days when I studied a few law units.

Lets see 34 players x Loss or Earnings must equal a minimum 5 million dollar out of court settlement payment. Plus another 2 to 3 million dollar legal fees.

Dam I think the boys at Windy Pill could afford to pay such low amount, after all they could always sell their 40 million dollar of property assets.

Who remembers The Beagle Boys comics.

Those pictures above remind of that great laugh!!

Yes, why is it that the Beagle Boys, Gyro Gearloose and (if memory serves), Uncle Scrooge never appeared in the Disney cartoons?

The head of the AFLPA has been reported in the age as saying the players are like workers who were exposed to asbestos by their employer.

If we're lucky EFC will leave the country just like James Hardie.

FRESH show cause notices have been issued against 34 former and current Essendon players.

The amended notices — complete with 60 pages of evidence tailored for each player surrounding the alleged use of the banned peptide Thymosin beta-4 — were issued by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority on Friday afternoon.

The evidence includes claims the peptide was sourced from a Shanghai factory and administed to Essendon players.

The 34 players have 10 days to respond before ASADA presents its evidence to the Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
