Hird Gone: No surprise: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/james-hird-removed-as-essendon-coach-20141002-10p3bn.html#ixzz3EwsvdNtu

The club has loaded its shotgun: '...Should a legal battle go ahead with Hird, the club has engaged its queens' counsel Neil Young to represent it. The Bombers remain determined to avoid a wrongful dismissal action from the Hirds...'
Interesting to note Hirds - plural!!
Footnote: another scoop missed by Hird's bestie; Robbo

Good luck with that one EFC you will have two cases now with the Messiah taking action in the near future.

The money pain will continue?

I might send them a donation to help I am confident I still have a two cent piece lying around here somewhere.

I wonder what the pay out figure was?

to be fair to hirdy,

when has anyone ever lost their job for exercising their legal right to appeal a court case?

reckon he would have a fair case for unfair dismissal - as much as i dont like him, it seems a bit unfair.

Now this will be interesting

Only one of them can be right!

So would it maybe be even better karma were they forced to keep him on when they don't really want him, and the players hate him for what he has done to them and to the club?????

Still, he always puts the players and the club first and foremost :-)))))))))

apologies to MK

Warning lights are flashing down at Rumour Patrol
Somebody threw a tanty and they threw out all control
There's rumors in the loading bay and anger in the town
Somebody blew the whistle and the walls are coming down

There's a meeting in the boardroom they're trying to trace the smell

There's leaking in the washroom there's some sneaky personnel
Somewhere in the corridors someone was heard to sneeze
'goodness me could this be Windy Hill Disease?

They wrote them a prescription they said 'you’d be impressed
Theyre not so glad they came at them to get if off their chest
Come back and see me later - next player please
Send in another victim of Windy Hill Disease'

I go down to the corner, I follow the paper truck
They’re saying Hirdy’s gone, he was told to go get ….
Two journos say they're Jesus one of them must be wrong

There's a protest, hands wringing, Littles singing a song
that bloody AFL wants to keep us on our knees

I have been reading the Essendon boards etc just for some reading pleasure,

So far -

Its courageous for Hird to back the players

Its time to spill the board

Caroline Wilsons fault

AFL strike again

Want to donate to Hird’s legal fund

What did Hird do to deserve this?

I am sorry but if this was the MFC that it happened to i hope we wouldn’t be this blinded and follow someone off the cliff...

Hird looking for a payout. And legal fight.

Statement put out by EFC,said they do have a good chance at appeal. If no appeal and players take the "plead guilty"and get on with life. Then Hird wins appeal,he can say hes not guilty and get his payout and wrongful dismissal payout.

Also it would mean everybody except JH would be an admitted drug cheat.

Then we could call him teflon.

Nothing on the EFC website about anything happening today?

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
