IN the six years Labor ran our border policies one boat person — on average — died every two days. The death toll was horrific — at least 1100.

But where were the GetUp candlelight rallies then to match the one we saw last week for the one boat person, Iranian Reza Berati, who died last week under the Abbott Government?

Where was the wall-to-wall ABC coverage? Where were the demands then for the resignation of the politicians behind the deadliest mistake of any peacetime Australian government — to weaken our border laws in 2008 to seem more “compassionate”, only to put people smugglers back into business?

What we are seeing now is not just the hypocrisy of the Left. It is also an illustration of a key difference between them and conservatives: the Left judging by how things seem; conservatives by how things work.

It is the difference between children and adults.

It's the hypocrisy of some of the left, yes I agree... but if you tar all of the left with the same brush, then I suppose that must mean that all conservatives are dishonest and divisive as was witnessed with the children overboard affair.

But regardless, as usual, you simply have a hard on for Bolt and offer little in the way of your own thoughts.

Just sharing conservative views. You're welcome to agree, disagree, or have your hissy fit.

Beg to differ... you seem to be the one having the hissy fit... by proxy.

As a matter of interest, has anyone heard or read about the Trans Pacific Partnership?

Wikileaks published 1 of the 30 chapters of the proposed partnership last year, and it seems to give horrendous powers to the already powerful corporations.

TPP: The Biggest Global Threat To The Internet Since ACTA

TPP Secrectly Trading Away Rights

Why Australians Should Be Worried About The TPP

How Would The TPP Agreement Affect Australians?

I note that Penny Wong is asking for more transparency with the Government on this issue. She makes some good points, but it is a little lost considering it was Labor that started negotiations 4 years ago, and as far as I'm aware they didn't release any information to the public (I don't think it was mentioned by anyone during the election campaign).

TPP Is Not A Trophy

I cannot fathom how giving up our sovereign rights to corporations is a way forward or of benefit to Australian's?

Nice editing

I'm just copying an article.

If you wish to disagree with any part feel free. But don't assume any of its content reflects my emotions, merely it represents the tenet of my views.

I hope that makes things clearer for you.

I get the impression that Andrew Bolt isn't well liked on here.

Funnily enough, I virtually never read content that is critical of him that lucidly explains where he's factually wrong and why. Funny that.

Ok, then let's take the following lines:

"the Left judging by how things seem; conservatives by how things work.

It is the difference between children and adults."

I believe it was two fine conservatives in Howard and Ruddock who deliberately mislead the public with regards to children who had supposedly been thrown overboard - I would call that a case of presenting things as they seem, as opposed to how they really are. So were they being children or divisive a-holes?

Howard denies this.

If he's an international embarrassment, I hate to think what KRudd and Gillard are. Sh!thouse on the home front when in charge of the books and should be held accountable.

Of course he would.

You said he "deliberately" misled the public. The onus is on you to prove it. If you can't, you're merely expressing an opinion. And, of course, you're not in a position to know. Nor am I.

But I'd take his word over your biased interpretation any day of any year.

That doesn't surprise me either.

You should be embarrassed. You sling mud, but fall face first.

Why would I be embarrassed?... I'm not the one with my head firmly up Bolt's arse.

I'm not his biggest fan but the fact we are hosting the G20 can be largely attributed to Rudd being held in such high regard internationally.

You alao appear to have been duped by Abbott's campaign of the sky is falling. The state of the economy is now in his hands. I think you're just starting to see what "shithouse on the home front" really looks like.

You can belittle yourself with those sorts of comments.

I just agree with his moderate views.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
