microscopic improvement.

you're doing your credibility no favours when you refer to a BOG performance as 'microscopic improvement'

it's going to be interesting watching you squirm as Wattsy gets more and more runs on the board.

Bit harsh there, all of us would love a Naitanui in our side. He is a gun ruckman and does some freakish things but lets just enjoy Watts. Naitanui is learning just as much as Watts so don't write NicNat off completely

What gets up my nose dd is that when NN touches the ball he is a star but when Watts does something good its he is number 1 draft pick and its been a long time coming or something along those lines.

I have never seen a player who has 12 or 13 touches a game consistently be referred to as a STAR

It's an absolute joke.

Yeah i completely agree.

Nicnat is just more flashy as a player than Watts, doesnt mean he is more effective

I still believe that at the end of their careers watts will be regarded as the better player, that's not to say Nic Nat won't be very good

Over people comparing him to Nic Nat, he is just a fumbling goof who does the occasional flashy piece of play that looks like an accident anyway. Watts all the way

Agreed, most overrated player in the history of the game. I have never conceded that I would prefer to have Watts and I still say in all honesty I would not swap them today

People always talk about NicNat being a marketer's dream, but have a look at how many kids have number 4 on the back of their Melbourne jumper.

Lets face it, if you did a poll right now of AFL supporters asking who they'd prefer in their side, the vast majority would take Natanui. You'd be crazy to not want him in your side. But if Watts continues to play like he did last night taking games by the throat, perceptions of him as the failed number 1 draft pick are going to change and change quickly. Personally, I'm glad he plays for us.

Firstly, I don't care about any "credibility" on here. Others can judge and name my "failures". And by all means name names.

Secondly, I want him to succeed, not fail. He's a shocking pick one. Not his fault. I'm just far more discerning regarding his performances than most on here. Yesterday is heralded as this amazing BOG game, when at best it was pretty good, mixed with some bad, and it should be a base norm.

The supporters on this site are so dumbed down to the [censored] poor that decent efforts are escalated to demigod status.

JW played his best game ever last night IMO.

I want him to succeed and I want him to keep it going.

What BH doesn't spell out for you I will:

Watts will need to play 50 more games like the one last night to not be considered a poor high draft pick selection.

No need to spell it out GL. No one is saying Jack is a star. What I'm reading is that Jack may have turned a corner. 40 odd more games like this and everyone will happy. I will enjoy his good games now though. Any forward would be happy with 4 goals and a game saving defensive mark. Credit where and when it's due

this was not supposed to turn into another Watts v NicNat thread!!!!!!

i just wanted to merely point out and engrain that Watts has new gears to go to and he's going to become a very difficult player for other teams to man up on.

I always go to games and say "i dont know how we are going to hold pendles, or buddy, or Gaz"

but wouldnt it be fantastic to say " i dont know how they are going to hold Wattsy"

This has blown the [censored]-O-METER to bits!

You should be worried about chafing, rather than Watts.

He will be a great player and has stated his commitment to the club.

We will need players like him, that and because he seems to annoy you like a hemorrhoids, you could just pop down to the chemist and get some cream for that...

Cheer up charlie. Enjoy the win and watch the replay with Jack Watts getting the job done.

One of the more ridiculous things I've ever read.

When he was first drafted to the club, a lot on this forum said he was the Messiah.

I still believe he will turn out to be the saviour and best player in our side.

God knows he has already been crucified.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
