Chris Dawes - worth every cent!

Thanks for selling him Filth.

He is what you lack.

Enjoy the Q stick

[censored].

That's beautiful, WYL. It's like a haiku.

Collingwood morons,

Wish they could take it all back.

Bad luck you jerkbags.

He can play,I agree, but he been injuried more oftain then he been available to play.

I not sure he worth what the MFC is paying for him so far.

Although time will tell if he become a value for money player,

Leadership - Tick

Kicks goals - Tick

Experienced - Tick

I never rated the guy at the Pies, but

Which is why most supporters should never critique opposition players. Until his injury in 2011 he was in better form than Cloke. His last 18 months was poor, but at 24 was only coming into his prime years and he'd already shown he could play at AFL level.

One of the very few things I won't hang Nerd over.

Collingwood thought they were getting like for like with Lynch snd Dawes but with a better ruckman and draft pick to boot....they took a risk and my have lost out as Dawes has his best footy infront of him

Biggest surprise was that Mick didn't chase him after the Blues missed out on Cloke - Dawes was vital to his game plan I thought.

Agreed, he is exactly what Carlton needed. We no doubt had more money to offer.

Not sure why so many people are surprised at this.

He was always going to be our most important pick up.

When Collingwood were on a couple of years ago, Dawes was always more consistent and reliable than Cloke.

They are fools.

Just wait till Viney and Toooooompas have 50 games under their belts.

Mark is that you mate?

You really have to get over the 50 game statements.

Dawes the player - sensational work horse perfect for leadership and delopment.

Dawes in the long sleeve jumper - sensational! Most amazing dees jumper since the Matty Whelan sawed off sleeves glory days!

Dawes on triple M just then said:

Roos been brought up in conversations

Also said that Neil Craig has been a great asset to the team but up to him if he wants the job

He wants an experience coach that can build around good contested stoppages and good defense.

Said future is pretty bright with the forward line we have and that Hogan will be A grade.

I never understood what Collingwood saw in Lynch, they will be regretting pushing Dawes (pun intended) out.

Over here in the Weat even the Eagles supporters didn't rate him. Worst decision ever. That and Morton at pick 4 haha

I'm really happy to hear him talking up the future with coaches, I was a bit concerned that he had a really close relationship to Neeld and would be disgruntled by his sacking. From last nights performance couldn't be further from that.

I swear I'm starting to see bits of his game rubbing off onto Watts. Dawes has been really good at cajoling and forced the ball forward. I know this is a Dawes thread but there was a moment, didn't lead to a goal but the ball was in dispute and Watts picked it up and was being tackled by two doggies and he just kept moving and managed to forced out to one of our guys.

Can't wait for Dawes, Clark, Watts, Howe, and Hogan to play together. Get the midfield right and opposition defences will be [censored] themselves.

That's the thing isn't it? Let's start getting some fear into the other teams, playing us. It's been a while.

Buckley was ruining his career by forcing him to be a forward-ruck. He clearly isn't a ruck.

Thought Collingwood would break even by getting Lynch but clearly they're not, and that makes me happy.

A mate of mine who is mad pies supporter was spewing when it happened and I'll look forward to his thoughts this week.

Do I understand stand correctly you actually have a Collingwood Supporter as a mate?

LOL

Cloke would never have gone to Carlton

and didnt Lynch knock us back too ?

Nice,

Dawesy only just turned 25 too. He has so much footy in front of him, and it will be his best footy.

Dawes is probably the smartest player at the club.

He would have known Neeld was a terrible coach who was killing the team and would have wanted him gone ASAP.

My dad is a huge pies fan and he thinks dawes has become twice the player since joining us, really glad we have him.

Ha ha he is mad, but actually has a decent head on his shoulders in regards to footy.

All Collingwood supporters are mad LOL

Anyone know if the Filth website is going feral over the loss of Dawes??

It certainly should be

One of the best decisions ever. Chris hasn't even peaked yet!!

Denham got that part wrong...

Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
