Spot on Robbie people seem to want to have an experienced coach but then doubt their achievements

Eade has the runs on the board at two clubs not many of those about at present.

PS how is the trip going?

I'm thinking Eade he has had his ups and downs and if you look at the history of the teams coached under him you will see that its not all perfect; he's been fired a couple of times but overall his record is good. Williams had good players and a good club with a great history behind him whereas Eade had taken over clubs that had been down for many years.

Overall I'd say Eade.

Really good od we still have another 3 weeks to go.

Thats called fishing Sue. But it supposes much. You then require potential candidates ( assistants) to be prepared to show their cards before all else.

id suspect any Coach to be worth his salt would privately be sussing out his running mates.

It is possible, but what if the coach turns around and says that's great but.... i don't want any of those people as assistants,.....

Then you've just cheesed of a couple of potential assistants who wont be at your club anyway.

Yes BB, it is fishing, but I don't think you'd be asking for anyone to show much of their cards. Wouldn't go further than 'are you in the market, yes or no'. Just speculating - of course the actual coach would drive all this when in place, whether or not that has happened already.

I've been thinking about this type of setup with Eade and Choco and I don't think they'll go for it.

1- Eade has come out and said that he has the fire in the belly to coach again. I just can't see him being interested in being a head coach for two years, then handing it over to Simpson/Ling in a couple years time just when we're turning it around.

2- Choco I believe would be in the same boat as Eade, if appointed he'd want to see it out.

3- Simpson/Ling would want a succession plan, otherwise why would they take it up.

I can imagine that the AFL will force us to announce our new coach to draw attention away from the currently unfolding disaster at Essendon and get it off the back page. (Probably still be on the front page though)

Eade is not going to put his reputation on the line for two years of pain only to see someone else take credit for the turnaround.

If that happens he will be seen as a failure and the replacement as the Messiah.

wednesday september 4 i reckon, the morning after our last game when Craig has finished up and gives them a couple of days to consider things if we happen to have a win ( no chance in hell craig gets the job for mine though )
