Sun just reported that Neeld has claimed his job is safe. Nothing in that really, essentially no news yet.

Yer nothing in it

So when you walk into a room, your charisma floors everybody else?

Vanilla?

I would be the same when approached by any supporter at the moment.

This is a guy who does a job voluntarily that has thrown one time bomb after another for the last 12 months

What?

It's not a criticism, just an observation.

Here is another observation. A majority of your posts do more harm than good to your 'cause'.

Josh Kleine? - reliable source?

According to Google he is a Yellow Pages salesman in the Albury area - of course he'd know.

I would be very unhappy if Neeld is the only one to fall!

How many scapegoats can we have? It is one of the reasons we are in this mess - because we don't make the decisions when they need to be made.

I agree with Barrett

1. Neeld has to go - but when ever is best for the club (at seasons end if best for new coach)

2. Mclardy has to go - again has to be when we have a replacement ready (no interim)

3. Jackson becomes full time

I'm not going to believe anything until I hear an official announcement from the club. Given so many in the media have almost guaranteed Neeld will be gone, I think the only reliable source will be the club itself.

There is far more to this than just Mark Neeld i agree..

Address 186 completely..it still lingers.

The above few posts from media are an indictment on the football media.

If Melbourne call a press conference there will be news. But waiting outside all entrances since before sunrise outside a regular board meeting based on nothing but speculation he could be sacked, speculation made by a member of the football media, is a joke.

Seriously, nothing will be said until a press conference is called. Why harass people?

This is only a story because they media want it to be a story.

The media in general are a joke these days but when you have guys like Matt Thompson, Jon Ralph, Damian Barrett, Craig Hutchison etc as senior footy journos and Mark Robinson as a chief football writer you know they're really plumbing the depths. It's for this reason I'd love Melbourne to come out and announce nothing today just give these morons nothing to write about in their papers tomorrow. Would make them apoplectic to think we didn't follow their witch hunt to sack our coach. Find another bone to chew on you numpties.

We are following up reports from the Melbourne board meeting. Nothing to confirm. Plenty of speculation.

Just making it balanced.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
