KC I know it's hard to keep track of everyone's requests but if possible would it be alright to cover Jetta and Strauss this afternoon. The level we need a running HBF was so evident last night, whoever is best out of those two should get a run against WCE.

Thanks again and go scorps

Essendon had 78 inside 50s last night.....having 1 or both of these would have made no difference.

Right now Strauss is getting a bit of towelling.

His opponent who I've never heard of has just kicked his second.

Quarter Time: Casey Scorpions 8.2.50 lead Frankston 6.3.39

Beat Melbourne's score from last night already but the bad news from next week's perspective is that the best players are all rookie listed or named Hogan.

Stats: Clisby 11 Magner 9 Couch 8

Goals: Tapscott 3 Kearns 2 Evans, Gawn Hogan

It is a joke that AFL listed players can't dominate their Frankston opponents.

Well Baguley, Howlett, Hibberd, Matt Jones and Dean Terlich were all ok last night. Those bombers played against our best. How are our worst players meant to best good state league players

Is Tappy playing well, or just poor opposition, i.e. something like the demons.

Frankston are a much improved side this year and unlike Melbourne they're not giving up.

They just keep coming back and it's 11.3.69 to 8.5.53 but Dean Kent has just kicked a ripper - three bounces and a kick from outside 50 makes it 22 points the difference.

Tappy is playing like a man inspired - he's everywhere and seems to have lifted enormously in pace, endeavour and confidence.

I for one, just want to say to KC, you post updates whenever you feel like it. They are much appreciated.

I sometimes get the impression some users think they are entitled to tell you who to watch and when to give updates.

KC any chance of an update, we have about 186 users reading this topic trying to get some idea of how Demon players are going with Casey

Deecisive i appreciate your concern but could you refrain from using that number in future please....anything but that number

Casey finished the quarter off strongly to lead at the main break 14.4.88 to 8.5.53.

Stats: Magner 18 Clisby 15 Gent Couch 13 Tapscott 12 Strauss Bail 11 Tynan Gawn 10

Tappy has five goals!

Goalkickers Tapscott 5 Kearns 2 Bail Evans Gawn Hogan Jetta Kent Magner

Appreciate that Forest Demon.

Two reasons for my limited posting:-

1. Down to 39% on the iPhone and

2. The canteen.

Cheers & back soon!

We need harder nuts in next week who will contest, run hard all day and tackle tackle tackle....especially through the mid field.

Jetta, Kent, Tappy, Couch and Magner MUST come into this team. All potential mid field rotations as well. Most clubs are now able to rotate approx half their team (or a tad less) through the mid field now. We'd be lucky if we had 6 in the team from last night that were capable of being rotated through the middle and that's stretching it.

P.S. If you're going to go into matches taking an under-maned mid field in this day and age....expect to get smashed....week in and week out.

Need Spencer in for Jamar as well. He playing today KC? If so hows he looking if you're able to update thanks mate?

While KC sneaks off for a bite to eat, I notice that the Casey Scorpions Twitter is telling us:-

We lead @VFL_Dolphins by 35 points at half time - 14.4.88 to 8.5.53. Magner, Bail, Gawn and Tapscott among the best

I have said it before, we need to uses all the midfield resources we have. Players like Jetta, Kent and Tappy can run through the midfield and play other positions (ie jetta as a small defender with stints in the midfield) - we need to take advantage of our depth.

Can the club just replace someone like Taggert or Tyan with Magner? - just take them of the senior list temporarily or put them on the long term injury list

We need gawn badly.

Agreed but the fact is Gawn is not ready and Neeld would be a fool to bring him in after 1 VFL game in 2 years

looks like gawny is playing well. 10 disposal in the first half is pretty good for a ruckman. Mitch clisby seems to know how to find the ball aswell.

KC no offense meant just that any news especially good news is greatly appreciated by supporters starved of good news

No offence taken.

It looks like good news today and if they go on to win this one then perhaps we'll see a turn around in Melbourne's fortunes.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
