Pederson to debut on the back of a poor nab cup. Interesting.

i'm confident he will produce good football. When he was given the chance at north he was a pretty good fwd

I think he is a seasoned footballer.

we have a shortage of those.

He could not hold down a regular spot at North.

We swapped him for Gysberts

So not a lot lost by adding him to our team.

From the little I have seen in the NAB he looked average.

At best he will add a bit of depth, cannot see him dragging us into the winners circle.

Going to be good to watch Viney and Wines go head to head.

Agree, so who is going to get the free when both players dive head first into the ball.

Would have been nice to draft both boys, good mates, would have played well together. However, very happy with Zeus. I hope he becomes a superstar and converts the Greek community into members :)

Who incidentally, isn't named for North, even as an emergency.

If all Pedersen does is keep Sellar and co. honest, he'll be a good pickup. Real games haven't started, but Sellar seems to have stepped up over the off-season, so perhaps that scenario is already playing out.

I wouldn't be too quick to write off Pedersen, he's in a different structure at Melbourne, so let's see how things play out.

if he can produce the form he did in 2011 and for the most part 2012 then he will be a good pick up. I feel he was very unlucky not to play a fair chunk of last year for north considering his very strong VFL form, the only thing keeping him out was the good form of the fwds that north had in at the time.

edit: uploaded the most recent video of him i could find

Dean Kent has something about him. Pace, power, aggro, ball winning ability and kicking abilty. GET ON HIM THE PARK ASAP!

I seriously think we've discovered a gem with that kid. He's like Tapscott 2.0. I also want to see him out there sooner rather than later.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
