It's not just me, you guys realise too. I find it astounding. Or maybe I'm just a late night owl and the rest are in bed before 9pm.

Not one paper, I haven't heard it mentioned on radio - only Kennett's comments on Demetriou. No callers.

I know I shouldn't be but I'm amazed they are filtering comments in the comments section that are raising it... ppffttt.

Lets be realistic - no other club will be investigated. This has been the most recent allegation of tanking and took 8 months - which could have been twice as long if appealed.

No one is going to start to investigate Freo, Hawthorn, Carlton ect. Its too long ago and the AFL wont touch it with a ten foot pole.

The most important thing is that the AFL clearly defines tanking. To date, no one - even McLachlan - can still to date define it.

The message seems to be that if you want to survive in this world as a journalist who covers the AFL then you should not cover stories that the AFL doesn't want covered.

It's strange that Mark Robinson found no shortage of Melbourne sources to fill an error-filled double page spread of Melbourne v Sydney Swans at Manuka in 2007 but can't do a similar sized write up comparing it with the Kreuzer Cup game in 2007.

I've been informed that the AFL's position is that Libba was investigated at the time and changed his tune by qualifying much of what he said in the interview. The AFL then declared that Carlton was pure as the driven snow and that furthermore, nothing new has come up since to warrant a new investigation. Never mind the stuff in Fevola's book and never mind that there was also an investigation against Melbourne and Bailey that came up with no wrongdoing before the McLean interview.

"Mr McLachlan said if any person came forward with new evidence involving clubs acting in a manner which was prejudicial to the interests of the AFL, the AFL’s integrity department would examine any such evidence."

The trouble with this is that when Liberatore was being investigated, it was generally understood to be an investigation into tanking and not conduct unbecoming or prejudicial to the interests of the AFL. Isn't it time that this aspect is investigated - particularly given that some Carlton people were openly boasting about resting players to avoid their participation in a game they didn't want to win? Was someone leaning on Brett Ratten so that he wouldn't place a tag on Travis Johnstone in the Kreuzer Cup? No, I don't think the AFL wants to know and the heroes in the media who have suddenly gone shtum don't either.

And what about Terry Wallace's admission. That's never been investigated before to my knowledge. Where's the call for an investigation?

given rats was unceremoniously sacked recently i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have a few stories to tell, especially under threats and table thumping

Unfortunately the writing is on the wall and the fix is in.

We were unceromoniously boned. When there is a corrupt regime who are only too happy to work hand in glove with feral elements of the 4th estate you really are up against it.

Whilst Vlad and Fitz are anywhere near the helm no more will be done about tanking, no other teams scrutinized. They have their sacrificial lamb.

Ive taken some time to mull all of this over. Im still disappointed we blinked. In all seriousness id rather we put it all on the line. Sometimes you have to.

Don and co did a commendable job but we lost. Quite frankly those that are suggesting we were officially exonerated are deluding themselves. McGuire never would have stood for such an outcome.

Im not sure what we stand for now. Offically or unofficially were now the 'tankers" . Its like being found guilty without a conviction being recorded. There are 500,000 reasons to back that notion up.

Ive become a little less interested in football now. I love footy. I am passionate about Melbourne. This club just continues to suck everything out of its followers and delivers sfa.

For me they had better bloody well look like something this year or after nearly 50 years of unwavering support .I might flinch. Lifes too short.

The AFL are nothing but a but of f'n self serving egostistical bullies. Sometimes the only way you deal with such is to smack him from one end of the hallway to the other.

Thats all i really care to say on the matter.

On with season 2013. wants to get better. Not overly impressed to date.

Boned with a "not guilty" I have no doubt the President had an AK47 pointed at his head as he was told to agree to these terms.

Yes it could have been a lot worse, but rolling over to a corrupt organization is not how i like to live and i find it hard to support.

Last thursdays FC at least got the rest of the info out there in a concise manner. Kennett's reaction was real.

The MFC must show marked improvement in all areas this year or else i will lose any interest.

I wish to be buried in my MFC scarf, but the club must earn that right from me and all its members and supporters.
