No one is going to start to investigate Freo, Hawthorn, Carlton ect. Its too long ago and the AFL wont touch it with a ten foot pole.

The most important thing is that the AFL clearly defines tanking. To date, no one - even McLachlan - can still to date define it.

It is amazing when you think of the possible stories that could come from the show and nothing.

The message seems to be that if you want to survive in this world as a journalist who covers the AFL then you should not cover stories that the AFL doesn't want covered.

It's strange that Mark Robinson found no shortage of Melbourne sources to fill an error-filled double page spread of Melbourne v Sydney Swans at Manuka in 2007 but can't do a similar sized write up comparing it with the Kreuzer Cup game in 2007.

The AFL then declared that Carlton was pure as the driven snow and that furthermore, nothing new has come up since to warrant a new investigation. Isn't it time that this aspect is investigated - particularly given that some Carlton people were openly boasting about resting players to avoid their participation in a game they didn't want to win? Was someone leaning on Brett Ratten so that he wouldn't place a tag on Travis Johnstone in the Kreuzer Cup? No, I don't think the AFL wants to know and the heroes in the media who have suddenly gone shtum don't either.

And what about Terry Wallace's admission. That's never been investigated before to my knowledge. Where's the call for an investigation?

Whilst Vlad and Fitz are anywhere near the helm no more will be done about tanking, no other teams scrutinized. They have their sacrificial lamb.

Ive taken some time to mull all of this over. Im still disappointed we blinked. In all seriousness id rather we put it all on the line. Sometimes you have to.

Don and co did a commendable job but we lost. Quite frankly those that are suggesting we were officially exonerated are deluding themselves. McGuire never would have stood for such an outcome.

Im not sure what we stand for now. Offically or unofficially were now the 'tankers" . Its like being found guilty without a conviction being recorded. There are 500,000 reasons to back that notion up.

Ive become a little less interested in football now. I love footy. I am passionate about Melbourne. This club just continues to suck everything out of its followers and delivers sfa.

For me they had better bloody well look like something this year or after nearly 50 years of unwavering support .I might flinch. Lifes too short.

Boned with a "not guilty" I have no doubt the President had an AK47 pointed at his head as he was told to agree to these terms.

Yes it could have been a lot worse, but rolling over to a corrupt organization is not how i like to live and i find it hard to support.
