What song should the Demons run out to?

Featured Replies

Demons by Sleigh Bells.

Its pumps, its modern and it isn't old man crap.

On Facebook the club is asking for suggestions on what song should we play as the team runs out, after the club song.

Nothing.

I would argue that it 'aint exactly modern either... this old man thinks it sounds a little like the love child that might result from Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath and Joan Jett spending a night together.

Then how about this little beauty? ;-)

I hope AC/DC sued for that.

I just threw up on my montior.

Stuff you, hardtack. I'm scarred for the rest of my life.

Maybe after all of our woes of recent times, it should be "Sympathy for the Devil"?

The "Woo Woo" call around the MCG could work well...

Glad to be of service :-D

AFL used this for one of their commercials a few years ago. They would have the rights to it. Easy access, and brings out the strong Irish heritage. This would be the way to go

Fight The Power....Public Enemy

Street Fighting Man.....The Rolling Stones.

Yep this it. Love it. Could become an anthem.

If there's no improvement, Accidently Kelly Street

Devil Inside - INXS

None why do we need another song. Geez this club comes up with some corny ideas. Why dont we just let the team run out. They play stuff before hand anyway. Im pretty sure no other club has a song. Seriously we have an afl investigation on the go and thats what the club is thinking about.

Kanye West- Stronger-

"Now that don't kill me
Can only make me stronger
I need you to hurry up now
'cause I can't wait much longer
I know I got to be right now
'cause I can't get much wronger
Man I've been waitin' all night now
That's how long I've been on you"

Subtext- hurry up with the damn investigation

I'm happy to leave it at the club song, the roar of 20,000+ members when they run out, and a win, and leave it at that.

Or will will bring my own boombox and take up another seat for it, And play 'we are the champions' while munching on a $10 pie.

Ill get us started with Hells Bells or Highway to hell ACDC

Also thought of , Action by The Sweet or Heroes. David Bowie.

another AC/DC

it has a nice slow buildup before engagement,,,,, inviting

Angus Young looks like he'd fit into a Robbie Flower jumper quite well.... with demon horns or cap

# Edit::: studio version for a better listen...

Nothing. No ads, no crappy pop music, no opposition song, how about an under 18 game, it's a grand old flag and then the footy. Silence from the speakers at the breaks. I pay to go to the footy, why do I need to have my ears assaulted with crap?

that'd B great @ the end of the game!

Is this designed to get the fans going similar to the bomber raid siren Essendon use at home games? In that case are there any decent options besides music anyone can suggest?

Think this is appropriate, although could be premature: Daft Punk - Harder better faster stronger

Should be something Aussie, but pleeeeease no cliche bogan songs (ie: AC/DC etc)

How about an instrumental edited version (with permission) of this tune from Oz Prog Rock faves Karnivool:

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
