Hi Guys & Girls,

As a life long dees fan who lives abroad, I've only just stumbled across this wonderful website. I've spent some time reading a few of the topics and thought this might be a good thread to start on.

I think the club is doing a great job at keeping everyone informed and it's good to see they have moved with the times and are using the whole social media thing to engage with the supporters. Years gone by there has been the odd update on the website and the occasional article in the online papers, but nothing like I'm seeing now. It's fantasic and I don't feel like I'm missing out on as much now.

So I look forward to more updates, and thank all the people on here in advance for the all training reports and the odd bit of banter!

P.S I don't think the wife will be too impressed with me finding this site, the computer might be getting a little more attention from now on.....

Welcome.

Dont't you mean the PC will be getting as much use but "in private browsing" less use? :)

I wouldn't let Max Gawn be close friends with Jimmy Toumpas

Especially considering Gawny's past history with 1st round draft pick

We really dont need another spewing incident

James Magner doesn't seem very popular either.

What's up with that?

id heard he likes a joke or five lol

Hmmm one picture of a sign saying no swimming due to crocodiles, and another of all the boys swimming.

I hope it was in a different pond! No way in hell I'd swim ANYWHERE in Kakadu.

No way would I swim anywhere in the NT except Mataranka hot spring and then they found a croc there one day.

After that there were no exceptions.

Welcome.

Ha ha, yes! Didn't want to reveal too much about myself this early on though.....

Glad to have you on board.

Going to be a good way to get me through a Welsh winter (even though looking at constant pictures of 30o C heat and sunshine does get a bit depressive!).

That tank looked small next to Max !!!! Lol

How many times do you need to be told that that word is never to be used in the context of MFC - it will just give Ms Wilson further ammunition for her petty vile vendetta!

He worked for a living and probably thinks they are all a bunch of self obsessed dicks .

I hope he learns to kick and becomes a regular .

Otherwise cancel his visa.

Cheers.

well boyo what have you let yourself in for - welsh winter I mean. Just a word of advice - learn quickly how to use the ignore button.

You can swim in the higher pools - crocs can't rock climb - but the stuff lower down is oob clearly.

what about the giant man-eating goannas? They can rock-climb!

A few years ago a Korean tourist was saved from being mauled by a crocodile after he had gone swimming 10 metres away from a sign that said "Crocodiles Do Not Swim". When asked why he did it the tourist, who spoke English, said he thought it was safe because the sign said crocodiles do not swim!!! True story.

my bad..

Off to the naughty corner :(

I think this trip away is pivotal in helping so many new players bond together. I wonder if they could do another mini type camp next year before the season starts again possibly up north to further get the team thing going stronger focus on more team work exercises.

NAB cup starts in about 8 weeks. The time to even plan that would not be available I'd assume.

Don't know of any high pools in Kakadu.

Water usually falls.

Never seen a waterrise in my life.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
