No to the Bombers deal, yes to 24 for Stef and Gys. It would kind of sting as I've like both of them (Gys in particular) but the FD seems keen on moving both of them on. But I would be extremely [censored] if we ontraded that for Pedo.

Much as I like Gys I do have to wonder the likelyhood of him getting into our team, especially with Viney and whoever we take with pick 4 coming in.

if he's any good he will get in, we need midfielders but not Prismall and definately not Rodan

No more dealing with the Bummers - Heffernan, Morecroft !!!! Never forget. I guess we would maybe take Watson though

AFL Trade Facebook page (I know) has suggested that Hawthorn has expressed interest and may be willing to part with Pick 28.

If that is in fact true then that is a deal that I would entertain. Would allow us to throw Pick 49 into the Martin deal to get 33 across the line and then we've got 2 early 2nd round draft picks to get Pedersen & Ray along with some later picks back.

Martin and Pick 49 for Pick 33? Ummmmmm no.

What is with peoples obsession with Pederson or Ray? They aren't even fringe players, they are worse then that. no way would I part with a pick 28 or 33 for either of them. At best I would part with pick 28 for the pair.

We draft Howe with a pick in the early 30's. TMac with a pick around 40. Would anyone trade those 2 for Ray and Pederson as I sure in hell wouldn't.

Lets just use the draft picks and maybe draft a Dean Towers and some small forward instead.

I don't know.

Why don't you ask the coach?

I would have thought a trade of Gysberts, Martin & Pick 49 for Pedersen, Ray & Pick 33 would be pretty good in our favour.

We've also drafted players like Bennell around 30, Newton around 40. So that argument can go both ways....

Any actual news on Jordan today?

The famous Herald Sun's guy latest is that there's been limited interest and he's likely to stay.

Opposite of what I initially heard first thing and that Hawthorn were considering parting with 28.

Just over a day to go. Who knows what still may happen . Filth were done and dusTed and lo and behold Theyve traded lol.

Lots of last day stuff to come

just not all of it will happen in time lol

We may have to throw in Pick 88 to sweeten the deal!

Hope that is just chatter. I'd be outraged if such a trade went ahead. Give the kid a go.

I think Nth must be smoking something at the moment.

If Gysberts was involved I would want him and Martin to get us Ray and Pedersen and a sort of decent pick.

Agree - this is absolute rubbish if true

It looks a good deal but this one will bite. Gysberts will be a star.

You don't know that for sure. And the FD certainly doesn't see it at present. With Viney and pick 4 (Wines) coming in, it will get a whole lot harder to get a senior gig, given his output.Time to weigh up performance output against potential and look at what is incoming. That will determine one way or another.

Id want norths second rounder and pederson for gysberts.

Friggen north playing hard ball, you didnt play him this year you douchebags

Gys to North for Pedersen and a pick that gets Ray. Then when Tippett goes to Swans, we do Martin and 49 to Lions for 33 and keep the pick.

joke of a trade. FD stuffed up by not trying to keep Rivers, assuming the compo pick would deliver Pederson. Now they are going to fire sale Gys to cover a stuff up and because Neeld not good enough to get the best out of his talent. Joke if this trade happens.

I'd be OK with a Swap of Gys + 4th Rnd pick, for Pederson + a 3rd Rnd pick.

That sounds even better.

On target TD

We gave the sweetener to PA

who on traded to WCE for Stevenson within 5min. ( suspicious?)

My bet is ( and I'm no punter) far from it.

Deal will be done Pederson to Dees for pick 49.

49 on traded by North to PA for Jacobs

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
