If.....and I know this is a big if...... Tippett attempts to get to the Swans through the PSD like Ball then someone must pick him up before them. The fact Ball was able to rort the system like he did has set a dangerous precendent where players seem to think they can nominate where they want to go, hold their own and other interested clubs to ransom by threatening not to play etc and get what they want. Someone needed to take Ball even if he sat out 2 years, that draft rorting could have won the pies a flag and has made trading very difficult for the players original club.

Bump, Called it!

Personally I think it is a big mistake for Sydney and goes against the way they have built their famous culture but lets wait and see.

I also don't believe they didn't know about the contract arrangement Tippett had to move to the club of his choice, why else would they have thought they would have any chance of picking him up with little to offer Adelaide in return.

Remember, he wasn't a free agent.

The AFL then opened the path to Sydney with their manipulation of the draft.

Its a huge rort, being banned from the ND was meant to be punishment for Tippett, but ultimately it was punishment for the 16 teams that could have picked him before Sydney, also this putting a price on your head only one club can pay seems bizarre in terms of draft tampering. Also it seems weird that the AFL told GWS they couldn't afford it, maybe they just didn't want a Tippett driven lawsuit? Anyway, first Ball, now Tippett.. its a slippery slope to powerful teams buying their players while poorer clubs fight over the scraps.

Hope someone knocks him senseless. I intensely dislike players who just march out on their club, yet somehow call the shots and get away with it. It's mental that he was able to walk out on Adelaide, bypass the draft, then put a magical price on his head that apparently only the reigning premiers can match? Mental.
Nothing would please me more than to see someone absolute bury this c*nt on field. He's had a few concussions this year, another one seems par for the course!

Where have you been for the last three years?

He did not walk.

Three years ago when his contract was up he told Adelaide to trade him because he didn't want to be there, they offered him big $$$ to stay and he said OK but only for three years and then I want out to the club of my choice and Adelaide agreed.

Now at the end of three years he wants Adelaide to stick to their agreement.

You are the type of person who should not be allowed to belong to any forum ie people who make nasty comments without knowing what they are talking about.

Resign and get a life away from here.

I'm surprised the AFL did not make his return from suspension coincide with the Crows game.

Imagine the interest, the size of the crowd and the TV ratings.

A marketing dream and right up with the AFL's set of standards.

I don't think, even if he was suspended for 10 rounds, that he'd necessarily come back in round 11.

He might not even come back in round 11 - he might need some match play as opposed to training only first.

Half a season is a long time not to be able to play competitive football. Only taking part in training is one thing, but playing the game is a whole other.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
