Rumours on facebook that during the Bailey years players cancelled training sessions. As in called in and told the coach they werent coming and this was considered fine. Any truth?

I can't say I know much about it but I have heard the same thing recently. And with Brad Green talking about players needing to lift their professionalisum it really dosen't suprise me....

Dare I say it might explain why there are a few noses out of place at the club this year? Surely no one on here can defend the players if true....

Yeah just looked into it and apparently its from Jimmy's autobio. So if he's saying it Id say it has to be true. Is it any wonder we are shiz if this is true?

Posted

I haven't had the chance to read Jimmy's book yet either - am looking forward to it

F@%# discgrace this club........................

Would anyone who has the read the book mind writing a summary of the shortfalls of our player group as described in the book. Would be interesting reading.

I can take losses, I can take re building and I can take being patient. But I can't take this. If this is true I would love to give the slack asses an all mighty serve. I hope Neeld swings an all mighty axe at the end of the year to the slack bastards who don't feel like training. Once again if true this shows how far behind we are and what a job Neeld has in front of him.

I thought they might be factual rather than gossip. I guess until Ive read Jimmy's book or listening to Green's radio interview it will remain gossip I guess? Alright Id better download that podcast how ever ytou do that...

Book doesn't go into much depth when it comes to players. Says the belief was the players were walking all over DB and that they had once canned a time trial because they didn't fancy it.

No wonder the leadership group were machine gunned if that's the case.

Youd have to be f'n joking surely. If thats even remotely true then thats deplorable, inexcusable.

Amateur hour

Be interested to know just how regular such a thing as , if indeed.

If this is true then I am disgusted. The whole Bailey experiment has set us back a generation.

This club has a habit of throwing good money at bad options. Geez this really shits me.

Don't blame the players...human nature being what it is, if the coaches let the players get away with it, they will...In my opinion, the coaches would be equally at fault...

Under Bailey a Sunday recovery session was usually held at One-Six-One on Commercial Road, Prahran.

Under Bailey they were a Cullen, Under Neeld they are a Culling !!!

I find it hard to believe these rumours are true.

Come on guys get real.

Old...i dont want to beleive them, I find it incredulous to the max thaty they could be remotely based on anything that has foundation.

Incomprehensible

When I read Jimmy's autobio then Ill know.

There was a small article about it in the sun the other day in the gossip part of the sports section. They got the basis for the article from the autobiography.

LOL. Imagine if I called in to work and said "can't be stuffed today, sorry".

They'd say "can't be stuffed paying you, your job is going to one of the other 50 people gagging for it. Cya".

Wow. Pathetic stuff.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
