Who do you want to see blooded or in the side by seasons end?

Ok I've mentioned this in a few threads but have been thinking its nearly time for a few kids to get blooded for their hard work at Casey.

They do need to be rewarded at some stage you would think and given the relatively easy run home it wouldnt hurt to give us to look at some of them, even if they give them 4 games each for a taste and spread them out so it doesnt hurt us too much.

Players I'd like to see:

Tom Couch

Lucas Cook

Troy Davis

Rory Taggert

Jordan Gysberts

James Strauss

Jack Fitzpatrick

Players I don't want to see too much of or need a rest:

Joel Macdonald

Matty Bate

Cale Morton

Brent Moloney - needs a spell.

Brad Green

James Magner

I'm all for the kids. I think a few of them deserve a chance even though Neeldy is hell bent on big strong bodies. They are our future.

Who do you want to see in/back and why?

GYSBERTS!!!!

I don't know why but I think this kid will be a star. He's done well in games he has played and impressed me on debut down at Geelong. I think we have a 10 year centreman there. Is a old fashioned smart footballer and at 190cm brings some height to the midfield. Hope he gets over his run with injuries.

Rory won't play this year. Chatting last night, they just don't want to risk re-injury, plus it'll give him an extra three months after the end of the season.

Oh cool. Cheers for that. I've seen him play a few times and looks like he could be a really good player.

I wached the Casey game and I didn't really see any stand-out performers that warrant a call up .

I loved that Dunn ,Bate ,Davey ,Rivers ,Garland had good games and Sellar was solid .All these guys are blue collar and earned their pay.

Gysbert ,Struass ,Martin and Petterd stood out in the twos as AFL ready but Bennell couldn't get involved in it .

The Tynans looked good but not special .As did Couch .Spencer looks unco .

The only guy who I think needs more opportunity is Jetta when fit .

Players that are needing a break or a game in the twos are clearly Beamer ,Morton ,Jamar ,and J.MacDonald.

Bail ,Martin ,Ricky P and Gysberts are the only serious contenders for a call up .

I dont believe we need to debut these kids until they earn it .

Tynans ,Couch Matthews ,Cook ,Spencer,Lawrence etc need to really earn the honour by dominatinating the VFL .

Edit JMac.

I'd really like to see Lucas Cook in the side before season's end. He was recruited as a key forward and I think we definitely need another (permanent) option in the forward line. Although Rivers and Garland might disagree!! I went to one of the MFC forums last week and Mark Neeld said its a big eleven weeks for Lucas Cook, so I wouldn't be surprised if he does get a look in.

Tom Couch has doen everything right and deserves a spot for sure, but isn't he still on the rookie list??

Very harsh on Bate who has just played his best game for several years I think. Otherwise I pretty much agree with you on the players you nominated. Obviously Taggert, Fitzy and Strauss are all along way off due to injury or illness.

Harsh?? I didnt say I hated him or thought he was useless did I????

Evans ,Jetta, Gawn could all be anything I suppose .We dont know .

Big Max can be chief recruitment officer and quietly vomit on the delisted players .

We really need a crumber-hurry up Nev.

The Pig is back... hardly cerebral.

Huh?

I was taking the [censored] HG.

I know I am good but a cerebral discussion is difficult when it is all of one word...

And The Pig?

I'm rpfc, and have been since the dawn of time.

Love to see the speed and the skills of the "forgotten man" - Evans.

Me too. I hope we keep him. I feel I put the moz on him when I selected him as one of my big improvers this year. I just think he can really play.

I want to see spots in our 22 absolutley earnt and once you are in you play like your life depended on it and the knowledge that if you lose your spot it's going to be very hard to get back in.

That is culture building and flow on affect, something the Pies have done for many years

I'm sure Couch will get his chance, but let's be honest, Gysberts is almost a certainty to be a big part of our midfield future. Couch isn't.

Couch was poor on saturday. If not for a free kick and goal, I would not have known he was out there. I am sure he can do much better, but he seems way behind Magner who is just a battler.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
