A thread about Sully who left our club for a deal of a life time & when our footy dpt was in a mess!

Carrying about booing & how they booed... really cmon!

I also was very angry when I left but understood why, remember we are not the only club that lost a star/potential

Lets face it we beat an u19 team, lets not forget we are 1-10,

Oh thanks..that cleared it up..

Obvously no sense of occasion or humour

Classier???

Thanks for the info anyway. :)

Yes classier. What did you want to see, a fistfight?

Scully was far from the worst for GWS, and he will be a very good, 200 game AFL player. Christ, move on. The club has.

Did many players shake his hand after the game or be friendly with him??? I missed it.

PS. When I played I only used to shake the hand of my opponent for the majority of the day - its got ridiculous all the handshakes these days.

As for Tom, how do you feel now you slime bag?!

Yeah...the Demons players did shake his hand and it was all happy love and roses time after the siren...

Its flat out annoying.

MFC...cut out this nice guy image its bs.Go to your supporters firstly and thank them for standing by you through the rubbish games we've seen this year.

James Mcdonald maybe shake hands with... but as for the GWS as a club they can jam all the nice guy rubbish after the siren....

Dont forget they want to make a play for Viney also...full well knowing he will play for us only & they just do it to get the upper hand,,AGAIN!

Im happy the Demons smashed them but our skill level is a discrace IMO from watching on TV I thought our skills were rubbish.

Sorry to be a little negative guys...just want us to get a lot better than we are and against good opposition not kids.

Mitch Clark you are a gem. Thank god we chased you as theres no forward line otherwise.

Well done by Riv today also tho,

Unbelievable. All Australian games, including the ultra violent, collision rugby codes, have a tradition of shaking hands with players you were trying to kill. Not shaking Scully's hand would have been spineless and disgraceful.

Not a huge fan of schadenfraude, and I do believe he will be our Leigh Colbert, but was nice for him to get the reception he 'deserved'. I hear that in Jimmy Stynes' posthumous autobiography mark 2, he pots Scully. It says a lot when a bloke like Jimmy, one of the most positive and humble blokes you would have found, lays the boots in.

Disgraceful thread. I hope he has the worst flight ever. I hope his dad sits on the seats next to him.

.............. and they get to share some of Sheedy's humble pie.

Tom $cully will get booed by the MFC crowd until his career ends. As it should be. It will level out. But we should never forget how we were treated for 15 months as Jimmy got sicker. Junior Mac is always welcome through the door. He will be back.

I also felt that our skills still need work. There were some howlers committed today that would have been eaten up by higher quality opposition. Once the boys have gotten their stamina up, they need to work on their skills!

Um... No fistfight. And Im certainly sure I moved on long ago, well before a lot of others. It is ok to ask questions. Now you move on.

I think to be honest, Melbourne really needs to extend an olive branch to Junior. He was treated appallingly.

Not sure if this post was directed to me but I think you will find I asked a question first, then backed it up by saying when I played the game we only shook the hand of the opponents we played on whereas these days times have changed.

Nothing wrong with that, let it go, we won!!!

Quite a few players did, the cameras kept panning back. First was Jeremy Howe, then Sam Blease. Later was Jack Watts, were others. It is not an issue for the players they are all just AFL conscripts anyway in the immortal words of Ron Barassi, 'being loyal to the club they are with'.

Yeah, too soon now. Nice to see McLardy praise him in the prematch speech.

Agree, just had a falling out with a good mate because he wouldn't look me in the eye shaking hands-its our (Australian) culture and in footy.

Posted

I agree Junior is welcome back anytime. Scully can whistle for all I care, as he placed dollars far above any mateship or success he might have eventually got here at Melbourne. Sheedy can cry all he likes re not getting the Dees job a few years ago.................so suck it it up, you old princess Sheeds! He might do better being as bitter at others who have aimed barbed words at him since he left the Bombers. Garry Lyon would be laughing at your pathetic photo, you old fart. You are now out of touch with modern footy. I really didn't think you would lose it so quickly Sheeds. We still have bucket loads of work to do so lets all roll up the sleeves and win another game or two soon. It won't happen by itself. The challenge is now on for a few players to justify their position on our list come 2013. Personally I predict a couple of experienced hangers on, will be missing next year.

Posted

Junior KNOWS he is and will be welcome at anytime after his defection is over :)

The guy sitting in front of me (who seemed to have no affilation to either team) interrupted my booing by turning around and asking

"Would Jim Stynes boo Tom Scully?" Couldn't come up with a witty response in 5 seconds.

I always seem to sit with weirdos.

Your not Jim Stynes.

Everyone has the right to be themselves, & Jimma wouldn't put you down for showing your passsion & feelings.

Just wait till you read Jim's book.... The answer will come then!

Still was hoping someone might have run through him kust for good measure lol.

Magner hurt him at one point. Think it was in the 3rd quarter.....maybe.

Don't know. I'll have to review the tape tomorrow. Was just outside the square (between wing and flank) on Southern Stand side slightly towards the city.

Just can't remember which quarter.

Tapscott hasn't had his chance yet, Skoda will be interesting.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
