Hi Kev

Build yourself a bridge and get over yourself.

You have an admirable pedigree and track record. Youre a bloke who knows the value of good image and PR.

However you seem to have a bee in your bonnet about being overlooked for the position at Melbourne. You seem to be unable to let some things go and see all things in the light they need to be. Heres what Im thinking Kev, the Selection Panel had this idea too. We need people at Melbourne who have clarity of thought and make judgements without grudges as these invariably return as anchors to sink their oriiginators.

So , back to the bridge thing. Get over it. We have. Weve moved on. So have you. How is the backwater of Sydney these days ?

Sheeds is doing fine. He has added spice to tomorrows game. It's our gate.

My writing is not connected to tomorrow. It goes way back.

Sheeds works within the AFL circle. 5 years ago he probably needed a recharge so we didn't employ him. Part of me wishes we had. He probably would have demanded a FD a lot earlier. But its sliding doors.

Neeld is the man. Sheeds is Kevin

Should we say the same to all of those upset over Scully's defection?

This guy S$$TS me but maybe we should have taken him 5 years ago

If it's not connected to our game against GWS, then why'd you wait till now to post? Who gives a toss about Kevin Sheedy? Edited by Chook

Didn't melbourne pass him by as a teenage player before Richmond gave him a shot ? Maybe his angst started then.

yeah Sheeds-Whatevs dude .

What people dont realize is that Kev is lacking the required amount of sandwiches for a picnic .

We dont need any more mentals at Melbourne but I'm happy the AFL invented a bogus team for kids and retirees up in West Sydney .

I've met Sheedy a couple of times and he was never in posseeion of his marbles .

Having said that-it's a simple game-and Sheedy is a performer as much as" brains trust" .

Without him-there would be nothing to write about GWS-and they would probably fold within 7 years .

I've heard Sheedy speak a number of times at various functions. I have always been very impressed - he has vision and a passion for people and the game.

He is also a provocateur - and I like that.

Sheedy sniping us from the sidelines has not be the problem with the MFC over the past few years.

100% agreement RB.

The more I think about the decision to go with DB the more I think we made the wrong move.

Sheedy would not have denuded the senior players in the same way DB did.

We would now have a list of Good senior players and developing juniors.

Not a list of mainly Has been seniors and Kids who are struggling to get up to AFL standard.

The guy has forgotten more than most at the MFC know.

But all this crap is in the papers because GWS is playing Melbourne today. Hence, you are responding to today's game - whether you like to admit it or not. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. People comment on relevant issues all the time. I wouldn't call Sheed a relevant issue at the best of times, but I could see why you might be interested in what he has to say today of all days. And you are interested. If you weren't, then you wouldn't have even noticed anything he said.

Its not about today. Sheedy had his nose out of joint because we showed him no respect. Every chance he has had he sticks it to us. Whether it be in the media, poaching Tom Scully or nominating Jack Viney (which I am sure he will do).

He his a first class scumbag. His 2000 GF effort was a disgrace (as was the AFL's non-response to the violence).

I hope like anything we beat them by 100 points today.

Know many an Essendon supporter who believe he should have won twice as many flags with the lists that he had. Overrates himself terribly

That's the ever-realiable Essendon realism for you.

Does anyone else just not care about this bloke?

He has a grudge. WGAF?

He always needles us. No-one else does because they pity us.

As Tommy Lee Jones would say: I don't care.

Our planets just didn't align back then. We wouldn't have had the money for a footy dept to help, and our list was woefull.

It needed stripping right back.

IMO as it is, is probably almost the best we could have hoped for. If Sheedy came over, it may well have been like Barassi walking back in, back in 1981.

The list just wasn't there, nor the culture.

The work thats been done so far @ Melbourne to date is huge.

Actually Kev, I may have got it a bit wrong. I can certainly understand WHY youd still rather be coaching Melbourne rather than that bunch of hacks youve got !!.. My bad lol. Even the Seagulls came to mock !!!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
