"Don't go to the snow, come see Scully" - Sheedy

Featured Replies

Where's big Philly,?

"He's a sitting over there" "and there" ,"and over there to""and all over there"...wow...

Hoping we belt them.

Also hoping Scully is completely wiped out, even if it's unfairly and our player cops a suspension for it. I want him, and anyone else, to know that if you walk out on us, we will hurt you, and make sure you're never right again.

Do you really like your own post?

I gave it a 'like' too just so it doesn't look too strange.

I really can't stand this mob....

With what they did to us last year re Scully, and now look like shafting us again , by forcing us to take Viney with a high draft pick.

If I was Melbourne president I'd make a phone call to them , just to say, look you really hurt us last year, all we ask is if you could refrain from this viney nomination as a sign of respect, otherwise it's gloves off, and we will stop at nothing to bring pain to you at every opportunity.

We need to start the process on Sunday. No mercy. Let Sheedy play his infantile games while we get on with winning games of football.

Really?

Maybe they could return our Tonka Truck and crayons too.

Win. That's enough. Maybe an errant elbow to dog's head.

Maybe they draft tamper and bid without intention to draft? Don't expect Vlad to intervene. Kieren Jack anyone?

Are people reading a little more into this comment than is actually there? I think that comment is just Jon Ralph rehashing the comments made a couple of months ago where it was mooted that the GWS would make Melb pay the "correct" price for Viney by nominating him, thus making us pay pick 3. It's not a confirmation that it actually is happening I don't believe IMO

I don't think there's too much ambiguity about the words 'GWS has promised to bid for Demons father-son candidate Jack Viney should it finish below Melbourne'.

They've either promised or they haven't. If they haven't then that would be an appalling piece of journalism from John Ralph and I would be disgusted if I was GWS.

Yeh it got lost in the mail - really.

methinks the MCG is looking a bit worse for wear.

A bit of "blood and bone" is in order.

Cool. Then we can jump the fence and see it ourselves.

MFC has announced that 'Kick on the G' is back after Sundays game.

Didn't GWS only have 7000 to their last last home game , and that was mostly Richmond supporters.

Maybe the GWS fans were out at some sort of falafel convention?

They measure the crowds by weight in Western Sydney so 3,500 of the crowd were Phil Scully.

The best way to hurt GWS is to WIN, no dog acts on $cully behind the ball that will lead to blokes being suspended. Then launch a raid on the club when players come out of contract.

Great opportunity for either no.4 or no.10 to iron out no. 9 & get posters on here off their backs for a few weeks.

Best revenge would be a win this week and a raid on their talented homesick kids in 18 months time. Doubt it will cost $1m per season to lure some away from tumbleweed stadium.

Edit: Beat me to it Philthy!.

This kid really get's under my skin

I might be wrong, but I thought Gubby Allan said a couple of months ago that Viney would be looked at like all players and that it was actually other clubs trying to lobby GWS and GC to bid for him to ensure that Melbourne doesn't get him for a second round pick. The comment above isn't attributed to Sheedy saying it with the rest of the stuff about Scully and Snow etc... it just looks like filler to get his word count up. The "promise" is pretty safe, I wouldn't think of it any different than 'election promises' in politics. Doubt that GWS will be disgusted, but having that trash out there doesn't hurt them at this stage, and if someone comes back and says "Jon Ralph said you promised", it wouldn't be hard to discredit it, unless he can rely on having an actual quote there to back it up.

I wouldn't put it past Ralph to sensationalise in this fashion, to be honest 90% of AFL journalism is appalling in the quality, effort and research they seem to put in. It's barely discernable from tabloid journalism most days.

Am I the only one around here who doesn't want to see Voldemort ironed out on Sunday?

I mean it would be far more satisfying for me to see someone like Jordie McKenzie tag him so closely that he barely gets a touch.

I agree WJ I want a 20 goal win

With Scully having 5 possesions.

Firstly, Scully has been playing a defensive role himself and secondly, I wouldn't want him thinking he warrants that sort of attention in what has so far been an underwhelming career.

Of course Jack, but if he just happens to ....... wink nod say no more

They won't survive.

Fev pulled 5000+ to a Southern Tasmanian Football game by himself, (Aker did a similar thing with Glenorchy in the State league last year, as did Robbo for Devonport or Burnie) but these players singularly pull similar crowds to suburban games down here in Tassie. Just goes to show that the positioning is more about TV market than who turns up at the game itself.

But it's not a good look to see 7k against one of the larger Melbourne clubs... especially one that is actually performing pretty well at the moment.

i hate GWS with a passion i have only been to the 1 game this year but i will be at this 1, appologies to anyone sitting near me sunday cause im gonna give scully a gutfull till i loose my voice

They will survive SMF

The AFL will keep pouring money and draft selections in for as long as it takes.

That might take 20 years but they will survive.

Tag their tagger? Why? Let him get it, 40% efficiency doesn't scare me, probably less than that running around looking over his shoulder.

I'd like to see him stretchered off in the 3rd, want to enjoy a few ironic cheers as he butchers the ball first.

And in all serious, I'd hate for us to give away idiotic frees at the start of the game to help them get a good start.

Definitely want him ironed out. I want him physically harmed. He needs to know that walking out on this club has ramifications that he will feel for the rest of his football career. He made his choice, now he should deal with the consequences. We need to have a big win, and we need to flatten Scully as a statement. If we don't do both those, I will be disappointed in the club.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
