JACKATTACK 17 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Terrible turnover. Improving as a player though. 1 Quote
Biffen 12,949 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 2nd best on ground. Haters gonna hate. Bad turnover though. If he keeps doing it-I'm gonna keep hating it. It's not personal-it just my stupid pride. I dont hate the guy . Funny thing is I can almost tell when he is going to make a massive ,momentum turning ,monumental ,putrid ,stinking ,basic error . I can see him thinking. So can the oppposition-and they like the way he thinks . 1 Quote
DeeSpencer 26,681 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Terrible turnover, terrible player. He might find some more ball in the middle but he plays without pride for himself or for the jumper. 1 Quote
Arrow 1,257 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 2nd best on ground. Haters gonna hate. Bad turnover though. Grimes, Clark, McKenzie, McDonald even Frawley and definitely Howe were better. 2 Quote

Jaded No More 68,976 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Cale Morton ran off the ground and supporters around me were cheering. FFS imagine running off with 30,000 people heckling you, then having the coach yell at you. You would want to bury yourself! He obviously did not turn the ball over on purpose, and as annoyed as we and Neeld were, I bet nobody was angrier or felt worse than Morton. Give him a break FFS. If Neeld was so furious he would have subbed him off. End of story. Edited June 11, 2012 by Jaded 14 Quote

red and blue forever 1,074 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Woah. Chook's credibility just shot to 0. not at all. I Gave him 5 votes today too. had a couple of clangers, as did ebveryone. but the intensity and effort were the best he has produced all year 2 Quote

Nobody anyone's opinion on Cale Morton, it was disgraceful to hear MFC fans collectively booing a player wearing the red and blue jumper as they ran off the ground. The turnover was terrible as he had options on the boundary, but the booing IMO was not on. 7 Quote

Maybe the supporters have had enough of pathetic turn overs that happened right in front of where i was sitting. He had options. It completely blew the momentum we had clawed back. Sorry i cannot excuse it as others on here can. 1 Quote
Chook 15,069 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Clearly I was a little overzealous in my initial comment. This is a silly thread, so my post's not out of place, but I refer you to my Demonland Player of the Year votes, where I gave Cale 2 votes. After a little more consideration of the game, I realized that there were a few others who were better than him. Also, when I said 2nd best on ground, I meant for Melbourne. It goes without saying that I couldn't give a rats who was good for Collingwood. PS is anyone else having a little trouble posting today? This site's lagging a little, and it caused me to accidentally triple post a while back. I'm on firefox, if it matters. Quote
Deemanding 15 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Butchers the ball far too often when under the pressure and more often than not when there is no pressure, like today. He's not just a coach killer , he's potentially career killer some of team mates. Today's clanger took all the steam out of the momentum that was building I dread it when the ball is in his vicinity on the field as he is talented enough to find the ball which a lot on this forum get excited about but what happens from there on is a real lottery. A lottery isn't the thing you want when a team is developing a system and building trust. If there was a Brownlow equivalent for clangers, Cale would be crowned Clanger King Quote
monoccular 17,760 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Cales mistakes today were elementary stuff and at critical times. I will be suprised if he is playing for the MFC next year. His turn overs happen too often. Good players just don't do it. Not our worst player today. There's definitely potential there. just needs to clean up the turnovers and he'll be a good player. Trouble is, turnovers cost, and his one consistency is that he does regular turnovers. Can he / Neeld turn it around? 5 years on the list (?4) and hasn't progressed in this vital KPI. Quote
tess 19 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I rewound it twice and Neeld said,"Cale, kick it long down the f**king line" No big deal. 10 Quote
Jordie_tackles 354 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 The thing is he runs hard and into space which is half the battle, we got flogged in the first term largely due to not having players in space and in turn time to use the ball, Cale offers this. His kicking is definite worry but i hold out that he will turn it around, people saying delist after 4 years he is only 22.....and we arnt great at providing options this is the most frustrating part of our game. See endless number of Collingwood players leading hard, sprinting ect for an option we never ever have that, Collinwood played with so much space it wasnt funny 2 Quote
jimcor 212 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I was also a bit embarrassed by the toxic reception that Morton received. To me, he looks like the polar opposite of Jack Watts in that JW always looks as if he knows exactly what to do (even when it's about to go pear-shaped!) whereas Cale almost always looks as though he's terminally confused about what he should do. This wouldn't be helped by 5 years of criticism from the likes of us - me, very much included. I think he might still turn into a pretty good player if he ever manages to get some self- confidence. Also, I would also probably include him in my Top 6 today in spite of that horrible turnover. 3 Quote

Cale Morton is done. Good on you. Ever played AFL at the highest level and been booed by 30,000 of your own fans? [censored] off with this hero behaviour. You have no idea what you would do in that situation. I bet you'd want to run away. At the end of the day we lost because we lost the plot in the first quarter and there was no coming back from that. It was not Morton's fault, just as nobody here is blaming Green for missing goals, or Sellar giving away a free for holding, or Jamar handballing into the hands of his opponent. It was one horrible turnover, and Morton more than payed for it. 11 Quote
binman 44,842 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Terrible turnover, terrible player. He might find some more ball in the middle but he plays without pride for himself or for the jumper. Bollocks, absolute bollocks. Terrible turnover but to say he plays without pride form himself or the jumper is rubbish. I thought he played ok today and to stand up later in the game to save a certain goal shows his pride. Generally hate the phrase key board warrior but applies to the above quote. Edited June 11, 2012 by binman 2 Quote
