Watching him crash packs fills me with massive joy and pride given then knowitalls who think he doesn't know how. Of COURSE he doesn't. He's a twig. Anyone on here who played, is over 6 feet tall, and took ages to fill out, know what I'm talking about. Once you get weight on him he'll be EVERYWHERE on the football ground. And to make my point even more? Neeld said exactly that in the presser. Comparing him to Hurley on the day, who is a sensationally aggressive player, and one of my favourites outside the dees... you could see very clearly why Jack went ahead of him. Hurley's played games like that in defence, certainly in terms of crashing packs, but his kicking has never been as good as Jack's, and likely never will.

The good - seeing recent top 20 picks in Trengove, Watts, Grimes, Morton, Tapscott and Blease contribute to the win. I'll be delirious when Gysberts and Strauss join them, which by my reckoning has never happened.

The bad - Jetta's acting skills.

The ugly - David King coming to a definitive conclusion that a 9 game old coach was a mistaken appointment. We won't know either way for at least another year.

Actually, I think you will find more than one poster was vocal over the fact Watts failed to crash the pack when he stood back from a marking contest against Carlton on our forward line at a fairly crucial time in the game.

Anyone see the Ess player that stuck his leg out to trip the Dee player. Can't recall who it was but worthy of a free and a report. A very dangerous action.

Agree with this, something that needs to be continually highlighted, we have had a number of early picks over 2007-2010 but rarely have we seen them play together and even more so play well together.

Well done ! I hadn't read it. And of course it's quite possible that Dapper hadn't either.

But the point remains, there's a theme on here that suggests that Watts isn't the crash and bash type that people expect, when in reality 99.9% of posters don't expect him to be and haven't suggested otherwise. It's a self-serving argument by those that don't understand why Watts' efforts have often been criticised, so they revert to the "Watts will never be a crash and bash type" puerile argument. It's a knee-jerk response by shallow thinkers.

We saw it on the replay and couldnt believe it wasnt free kicked and subsequently reported. I think it was Courtney Dempsey but not100%. Will have to watch the replay - again.....It was the same action exactly.

It was Ryder on Nicholson. Should be a three week penalty. One of the most dangerous things you can do on a footy filed. As for Dustin FLetcher he should be banned for life after dropping the knees into Blease. About the 368th time he has done something like that. I don't buy the Saint Dustin label - he's a dirty player.
