Which is exactly my point...having bigger bodies is all good in theory but useless when the have no impact...we are no worse off by trying again with kids at the draft table...Agree it's a point we have been at almost permanently for the last 4 yrs...

Its a hardly a "real danger" when its actually happening.

Your proposed solution only intensifies the head in the sand approach that got us there in the first place. We do need to get more productive senior players around our youth.

I'm agreeing with you and have said so twice. Apologies I can't seem to articulate myself perfectly so you can see this.

There was the binge drinking episode last year for a start.

Then there may be things that are not in the public domain and it would be unfair to bring up here if that's the case.

haha so yeah there is one thing and you have nothing else

Sylvia should be ashamed of himself. We have seen him tear games apart several times so there is no excuse for rubbish games like that. I wonder how many dollars per possession he has made this year, very easy gig Colin you cretin

May have had a bad game but no player does on purpose. Unless you can do better don't get personal and call players representing your club 'Cretin'.....I understand the frustration.......but surley you are better than this.....

So ... why not as an interim measure go out, scour leagues around the country and bring in three Magner types who would give their right nut to play AFL footy? Surely that wouldn't be too difficult?

Some hard bodies to protect the kids and who will have an RHG for 4 quarters, every week.

As you say Footynut, at the very least they won't do any worse and think of the $$$$ we'll save and the primadonna tanties we'll be spared!

Nothing I'll risk posting on this forum.

But I may have carried an AFL player out of a bar myself on the odd occasion.

After what i saw last night with Col, I have to say 'very disappointed'.

I may rethink my preference between Col & Beamer.

Trade 'em Both.

Get rid of all the older heads & bring in another oldie that has been an AFL leader, someone like a Joel Corey, who could bring in some good attitudes with his experiences.

Id agree. I think at this stage we need some older leaders that have some heart. Clearly most of the ones we have now arent up to it.

And remember we got Moloney to replace Scott Thompson (and god I wish we'd just thrown the kitchen sink at him when he wanted to leave).

I think we already did, and have Couch at Casey ready for a game (unfortunately missed with illness yesterday). Should come in for either Silvia or Moloney. I'm sure we will look for more season.

It will be interesting to see if Moloney does his boxing camp this year.

I don't think it will happen. I think the approach now is to keep players under the gaze and control of conditioning staff. All things have their use-by date.

What makes you think we did not do that.

He was going home once the initial contract was up.

Classic case of an Adelaide boy who did not want to be drafted anywhere else.

From what I've seen this year, Sylvia should be traded at years end....

If we finish 18th, we should make a play for Dylan Grimes, in the preseason draft. If not, trade Sylvia for him......if we can get ,that deal done?

Dylan was a passionate demon supporter, he plays passionate hard at it footy and his brother is the captain of our club.......He'd also free up, Jack to play a more midfield roll.....

Moloney should be delisted at years end, for shopping him self around....

Younger players we have on the list currently, should be separated from the poisonous older group NOW!!!!!!!!!

We won't get Dylan Grimes and the fact he was a supporter is irrelevant, it's been proved time and time again. Put it down to a missed opportunity and terrible recruiting vision. Hard to believe it would happen with his brother under our noses but this is history now.

The rest of your post I have trouble disagreeing with. Moloney has clearly spat the dummy big time at his removal from the leadership group and his shopping himself around last week was the final straw. His mate Colin is a poster boy for the lack of development and laziness that had permeated the club. It would be to the benefit of both to go to clubs with a strong and established leadership environment where they will be forced to fall into line then ours can start fresh under the new Captains.

I have been disappointed with the efforts of both who are seasoned players with high skill reputations and standards which have been displayed in some matches.

I think it is the coaches responsibility to recognise the skills and ensure they are able to be expressed at the match time.

I hope the coaches have more than a one track tactic and can get these seasoned players to inspire some greater efforts from other players.

I would keep them but expect much more of them. If they fail to deliver to the standard 1 expected and 2 they are capable of then prepare them for separation from the club. It must be in their own hands and they must be aware of this.

They are good can be better players

Again being a better player does not mean only building your own stats but certainly improving the team result through your own effort must be the major consideration.

These players plus Green and others are the players who can continue the improvement while the next generation are inspired to perform better.

What does it take for people to understand that it was Moloney's manager....and he only stated that he would be mad not to consider offers now that he was a free agent........It is rather silly to get all het up over a off cuff remark...FA is comming and all FA's will be seeing what is on offer and would be stupid not to..

No problem with his manager talking....but it is very silly if you cannot back it up with form.

Moloney needs some A grade performances to keep his currency up, whether he stays at the MFC or not.

I believe that's what his manager said.....That he was trying to play well for MFC.......

Moloney employs the manager, not the other way 'round. Get real.

Agreed or that 3-year deal he's hoping for from the Bombers will quickly turn into a 1-year job from the Suns.

Maybe it has already.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
