THE 4 DRAFT PICKS WE HAVE

You'd imagine the other teams involved would insist on having the paperwork drawn up, signed and dated as within the trade period, before agreeing to not nominate Viney.

That'd be the smart thing to do on their behalves.

Of course, they could also agree to this deal, then either party has a change of heart and pulls the rug out from under us.

Thats not allowed, if anything is drawn up and signed before trade period then its against regulation.

And if they break the deal, then they lose there #1 and #3 draft pick as it would need to be broken in the bidding.

Haha righto then mate.

Underhanded tactics don't occur in AFL...

Well if the ladder stays in the same position that it is now then we'd end up with picks 2, 3, 13 & 25.

We could end up going:

2. Jake Stringer

3. Jimmy Toumpas

13. Dayle Garlett

25. Jack Viney

2 quality mids, a Goddard clone & small crumbing forward. Everything we're looking for and we wouldn't even need to trade for it!

This would be a perfect draft this stage, exactly the players I want , maybe O' Rourke from the Calder cannons instead of Garlett , if we finished 2nd bottom, which is every chance , getting jack viney for a second rounder would be on the cards ! GWS wouldn't risk giving up Whitfield !

Hi guys, I'm not sure if the following has been mentioned before but I believe the club has its sights firmly on 2 Victorians currently interstate. Someone would have to confirm if the following players are out of contract at seasons end. I'm speaking of McKay from the crows and Dion Prestia. Prestia's father is apparently a keen Melbourne supporter who donates fruit annually to the club from his business. We have the power to trade with their clubs and they would add what our midfield is lacking. Pace, poise and class.

I like Prestia, reminds me of Montagna. If that's true maybe a trade of our first 1st round compensation pick plus Moloney or Sylvia for Prestia and an agreement they wont nominate Viney?

McKay's not a bad player, but I wouldn't move heaven and earth to get him. 2nd round pick max!

I like the added infuse of an Irish name, hopefully Attitude of toughness to go with it, IF he's as good as those around him. We Need IMO, some more Irish Dander.

Stop it!

Too early for this conversation. You'll have the 't' word up and running. (And we MUST load up on midfielders with pace and the ability to use it.)

looking at our current form it is impossible to tank.

We have 4 early picks. We need to hit 2 really good midfielders in those 4 picks, which includes Viney.

Our midfield, or lack of, is killing us. We need players that can win contested footy and spread really hard into space. We have a great opportubity to do so, and (at this stage) I would be picking 4 midfielders.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
