First post after being an observer for a long time.

Travelled from Adelaide for the Tribute game - had to go to acknowledge the contributions of a truly remarkable man - and was impressed with the pre game presentations. He will be greaty missed.

Jason Akermanis made some comments on our current situation as a part of a radio interview over here tonight. He is not sure if Neeld can actually coach - and claims to have spoken to a close friend who played for the Bulldogs against us on Sunday who thought the Bulldogs played really poorly despite the win, but that we were rubbish and consequently the Bulldogs were very disappointed with their performance. Yes, I know it is Aka, but he does raise some interesting points, many of which have been raised before. The Link is attached - his reference to Melbourne is approx 6 min 30 secs into the interview.

Why would anyone listen to Aker? He is a waste of space.

I must admit I got a chuckle out of "is David King ever right?". King annoys me - he's one of those people who sounds as if he knows what he's talking about, but when you listen a bit closer...

Disagree.

He does not even sound like he knows what he's talking about.

He is actually a dunce.

He's not wrong though, so whether you like the man or not is irrelevant. We had a decent burst in the 3rd quarter and were playing a Bulldogs team that is actually playing bad footy, and had struggled to kick goals before round 4. And yet, the team lost by giving away some frustratingly easy goals.

We were not very good on the weekend. I fail to see how "improvement" equates to performing well.

Tell us something we DON'T know Aka. Terry Wallace said after the game the Dogs were at their worst since 1996 - he was being constructive. Doesn't say much about us but our upside is way better and our 3rd and 4th quarters showed the spirit, hopefully , we will turn around. The coaching panel will get the rest sorted in time.

Everyone wants to have a go at us because we're and easy mark; Akermanis is just the latest in a long line but who cares what he says, it's just words coming from someone that has zero credibility. The only way we will stop the constant criticism is if the players show they are no longer there to make up the numbers and they have a genuine desire to put it all on the line to win a flag.

When you have a player from another team say we play bruise free football it really is the ultimate insult; that hurts more than the words of a jerk like Akermanis.

Do you have any thoughts on the topic, JnrMac? Pointless posting if you're not going to contribute anything.

Really? It's all JA is worth. Not worth discussing any further than that. Oxygen thief.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
