Gamestyle, maybe so, & maybe not. It doesn't matter, because we know the weakness at Melbourne has been perennial outsidedness & softness. Lacking of hard ball winners.

This is what Neeld Is working on.

He can adjust the gamestyle any whichway he chooses as required year by year. But the teaching the players to get the head down & Go, thats what we need to learn.

As the AFL game evolves so will we.

But the failings have been always the same. Lacking in hard headed competativeness & not wanting to do the dirty things of the game. Chase, Tackle, Win the hard ball, Fly the Flag for one another, play for one another, the Brotherhood, all for one & one for all...

Lets stop dreaming & start Doing.

I can remember a few years ago when Bomber Thompson was still coaching the Cats. They had just played and beat us by a margin I can't recall and Bomber was being interviewed by the commentators - namely one Matthew Lloyd.

Lloyd was pumping our tyres right up and asking Thompson about what he thought of the Dee's, alluding to the similarities between a young Geelong outfit and that of the Dee's.

Thompson just played a straight bat and said something like, "Why would I be interested in Melbourne? I'm the coach of the Geelong footy club... I don't care what Melbourne are doing."

It made Lloyd look stupid and gave me a chuckle. That said, I reckon Lloyd has bit of a soft spot for the Dee's... He'd be more than welcome to come and have a chat with Mitch in my opinion.

Met Lloyd a couple of times, really, really nice guy.....his young daughter calls him Lloydy...(so funny)...not a bad summary, but a bit hindsight really..... still 20 20.....

I've met Lloyd a few times - nice bloke, but he's as interesting as watching paint dry.

Has the personality of cardboard.

And I'm afraid he is far from "on the money" with his article.

Lloyd is probably more right than wrong - at this point in time.

Our players look ordinary most the game and great in small patches - very small.

Whether in those patches of brilliance the players are implementing Neelds game plan - or just having more of a crack, Im not sure.

Mark Neeld will get the best out of our players, if he doesnt - the players will no longer play at Melbourne, simple as that.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
