Can someone please clarify what selections we'll get if we finish 16th? Picks 3, 4 and about 11? Which pick for Viney?

As for the game, Howe, Jones, Watts and Clark looks like competent footballers. The rest don't, and that includes our captains.

concerned jack grimes is getting into danny bell territory. he was wacked a couple of times today

Was merely responding to a post having a go at me for how I was reacting to the loss, have a read back and see who you think should go easy first...

Personally Stuie, I think everyone should go a little easier after a debacle like that, otherwise we are going to drive ourselves even crazier than we already are......

But you're right you're not alone, your post was just the one that jumped out at me. Apologies :) !!!

FFS. Watts is the least of our concerns. He played well today FFS!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Titan Uranus,

He played OK,running around behind the ball picking up cheap kicks.

I'll repeat,Jack Watts will not develop his game running around as a spare man behind the ball picking up cheap kicks.

He either plays inside 30 contesting against harder bodies taking contested marks or he goes back and plays ON a key forward that will teach him how to play Key Forward.

Watching the first three games, I see some things that are 'improving', but my GOD - we are so far back it is not funny. If you completely delete the third quarter, we were OK. Where the hell did you go, Demons?

Problems from my perspective:

ZERO confidence. Players get the ball and crap themselves, even with no pressure. Turn it over.

Zero quality between the arcs. We have no-one running and working between the arcs. We could have Peter Hudson, Jason DUnstall and BIlly Bennett in the forward 50 and we would still have the problems we are having. Quality across the middle and half forward is completely lacking.

Zero ability to stick a tackle. If I was coaching against the Dees, I would instruct my players to 'take them on'. Tackling efficiency and effectiveness is appalling. Top for today for us - 5 tackles. Tuck on their side had TEN.

A ruckman (Russian) who panics and handballs the footy regardless whatever the hell is going on. A lot of tapwork that is useless.

Poor clearance skills.

Inability to overlap, run and provide options. (Give the boundary line a demons jumper, it racks up enough stats!).

I dont know what will turn this around - we first need to play 4 quarters. We need to contest. We need to run BOTH WAYS because we must. We need to get the midfield sorted. Otherwise, this crap will continue. Post match or post apocalypse???

Morton = No. Did you see him pack his dacks under the uncontested high ball in the back line and spill it? Awful.

I did see that, but I also saw his runs down the wing. We need more of that in this team, but we need to somehow drill the fear out of Morton. If that can be done, he'll still be a serviceable player for us.

He kicked well occasionally. Other than that he was poor by every measure. Uncompetitive, poor decision making, 5 hand balls to players with opponents on them, scared of one on one footy, avoiding competitive posession. Just what the team needs. This from a pick 4!!!

I think you'll find every player hanballing to a man covered by a Richmond opponent Coz we don't run and spread. We have no interest in sheparding, bumping off the ball or creating options with any kind of movement. Morton at least tried and moved off the ball providing an opition. Can't blame the man who tried to be creative but sometimes ran into trouble and had nothing on offer to help him out

Whipping boy syndrome this is. Lay blame on the easy target. He was not our worst and at least he tried something most others either didn't or couldn't.

Like Bruce, TJ, Miller or Maric???

Morton is Fiora V2.0.

Exactly! Cheney, Buckley, Johnstone and Armstrong also come to mind...

You must have been watching a different game to me. i watched the one where Morton stood twice in an area without any opponent on him and then handballed to Jones, etc who had two opponents and thus created a turnover through forcing his team mate to be caught with the ball... or the one who freaked out in the backhalf and paniced, forcing a turnover, or the one who twice stalled before a one on one contest and showed no second effort, allowing his opponent to run off with the ball and on one of two occasions create a scoring opportunity.

Whipping boy or whatever mate, but he was terrible. And he is a pick 4 player who - once again - had no impact. Well other than creating opportunities for Richmond.

Certainly not saying he was the only bad player - nearly all of ours were terrible. But the signs I saw concerned effort rather than just sloppy skills.

Listen hear you little short-stepper, I walked away feeling sick but at least I have some sense as to why the team is playing badly and what improvements were evident.

Get over yourself. Or perhaps you and osilik and old dee and can form a depressed dee member support group. HTFU

i was there today, im actually devastated, after having a shoulder reco recently and told i wont play footy this year i was really looking forward to watching melbourne this year and going every week that they are in melbourne. After what I have witnessed in the first 3 rounds it is going to be extremely hard for every supporter to be going back and watching our team get punished by a bottom half side like we did today.

Im lost as to what has happened, was it baileys game plan then recruitment? or our inability to develop young players? I feel the 2007-2011 period has been wasted and we will be going back to square one after this year. I hope we use our 3 top 10 picks right this year otherwise im thinking our club might not be around in 10 years.

ps cale morton 17 possessions 16 uncontested, get a hard ball you useless C**T!!! (pick 4 well done recruiters i guess dangerfield wasnt up your alley!)

Well said and I feel your pain mate. I think Bailey was recruiting for some kind of running style Knights Essendon deal that has left us with an uneven mix.

Awful team from 2007 to 2009.

Improvement in 2010.

High expectations in 2011 met with mediocre results.

2012 and it seem's to be getting worse.

Can't see us getting a win until round 11 at this rate. Had it still been a 16 team competition, we'd have the wooden spoon in the bag.

Yes but I want a club where our players guarantee to improve there weaknesses.

Not continually just trade on their strengths alone,,, time & again.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
